Our kids, ranging in age from 4-14 had plenty to keep them busy all day. Spent about 4 hours exploring the museum, plus about 30 minutes of eating the lunch we had packed in the convenient cafeteria. It was a rainy day so we didn't get to explore the outside park but we have in the past and that is... More

I recently took our kids and some of their friends to the Discovery Museum. We had been to the museum prior but it had been a while since the last visit. The museum has 2 floors of interactive displays/experiments and fun. Somewhere educational and some were just fun/playtime. If weather permits there is also a large outdoor playground which is... We took our 4 and 2 year olds here and had the best time. Very clean, friendly and loads of creative, hands on objects to play with! Loved this place so much, the kids cried when it came time to leave!!M

What a fun place to share with young children. There are so many hands on displays the kids can hardly finish one before rushing off to the next.

This museum only took an hour from the Chicago suburbs for a great day trip. It is reasonably priced and has free/easy parking. Perfect for school age children PreK-5th. Full of lots of terrific hands on, educational activities. The exhibits are well maintained and the space is large without being overwhelming. If you go during the warmer months there is... More

Really fun for the 3 and 1 year old. We brought our lunch and ate in the fun playground. I was surprised by much my littles could do.

GREAT museum for kids under 13, wonderful outdoor play and learn space. Big space for 6 and under that is equally as good as the exhibits for "bigger kids", and even a really nice baby space with lots of toys in good shape. Great location in the same complex as the natural history and art museum, and near the beautiful... More

Thank you very much for your positive review. Your succinct description was right on the mark! There is an area for very young children, so they don't get run over y the bigger children. My grandson loved the water play area. They had aprons for them to put on so they won't get there clothes wet. They had shopping carts and a store, there was something for them to do around every corner.
