This museum occupies a portion of the decommissioned Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul. An impressive collection includes some 40 historic military aircraft in beautiful display condition. My Wife and I saw the Museum’s road sign on I-57 and decided to stop for a visit. We were very pleased that we did. We planned on a short visit, but ended up staying for two and one half hours. If you like planes you MUST see this sleeper of a museum. They have a Convair B 58 Hustler inside which looks like you could fill her up and fly her out except for a cracked titanium nose strut. A rare and huge C 133 is outside along with a beautifully restored WV 2 Constellation. The even have an XB... More
