A "modern", zoo complex with lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, etc., all in a easy-to-view "open" environment that is a great asset for a small city like Peoria. Worth a visit for children, families and adults. Well-stocked gift shop. Nice interpretive displays for kids.

We visited Saturday and it was a perfect day. The animals were very social, from the lions to the monkeys! The male lion was roaring which is an amazing site. The tigers were up by the viewing area so we could see them up close and personal. The new zoo set up is very nice and I always look forward... More

It's been at least 15 years since I was last here, I wanted to go back especially after the expansion. I was really impressed especially with the Africa exhibit. It was a bit chilly so not all the animals were out yet but the lions and tigers were and we got to see them up close. Many of the other... More

this place is so low cost we weren't sure what to expect, however we were pleasantly surprised. They have a great range of animals which seem well cared for. The zoo is not huge and has some indoor viewings which is good to get out of the heat in summer, or in our case the cold in spring. Because we... More

If you like animals and a nice walk go. I've been taking my daughter for at least ten years now. It's improved and is nice. We even took homeschool classes there that were great.

Glenn Oak Zoo is a really easy place to take your young children and let them explore and experience the park. Parking is something that could be improved.

This zoo is such a fun afternoon trip. Every time we went the animals were always active. The lions perched up on their rock are so majestic. The Tigers are always growling. The kids loved the monkey house where the monkeys are so full of fun activity. They swing from the branches!! The zoo is the perfect place to take... More

I have been coming to this zoo since childhood. Back then it wasn't anything special, but we went often. When we had a child, we decided to get a membership to help raise money for the Africa exhibit. When Africa opened, we realized how amazing our zoo had become. We attend several special events throughout the year. We go to... More

I have been going to the Peoria Zoo since it was called the Glen Oak Zoo. Every year it just seems to get better and better. As others have pointed out, this is an amazing zoo experience for a city the size of Peoria. It may not be as extensive as the St Louis Zoo but for the ease of... More
