this place is so low cost we weren't sure what to expect, however we were pleasantly surprised. They have a great range of animals which seem well cared for. The zoo is not huge and has some indoor viewings which is good to get out of the heat in summer, or in our case the cold in spring. Because we... More

If you like animals and a nice walk go. I've been taking my daughter for at least ten years now. It's improved and is nice. We even took homeschool classes there that were great.

Glenn Oak Zoo is a really easy place to take your young children and let them explore and experience the park. Parking is something that could be improved.

This zoo is such a fun afternoon trip. Every time we went the animals were always active. The lions perched up on their rock are so majestic. The Tigers are always growling. The kids loved the monkey house where the monkeys are so full of fun activity. They swing from the branches!! The zoo is the perfect place to take... More

I have been coming to this zoo since childhood. Back then it wasn't anything special, but we went often. When we had a child, we decided to get a membership to help raise money for the Africa exhibit. When Africa opened, we realized how amazing our zoo had become. We attend several special events throughout the year. We go to... More

I have been going to the Peoria Zoo since it was called the Glen Oak Zoo. Every year it just seems to get better and better. As others have pointed out, this is an amazing zoo experience for a city the size of Peoria. It may not be as extensive as the St Louis Zoo but for the ease of... More

I enjoy going to zoos. Peorias zoo isn't extravagant but it's not an animal shanty town either! There's plenty to see and do. The animal feedings are great learning times. We had great fun at Hall Zoo Ween too!

For a city this size, this is a great zoo. The animals can roam freely in fairly large fenced areas and there is a wide variety of animals. There is a small inside food court available for a hotdog, warm pretzel, etc. Great for couples and families.

The zoo has really grown in the past couple of years. If you are comparing it to St. Louis Zoo or someplace, then no it's not that impressive and it is expensive if you are used to free zoos. But as a stand-alone zoo, not being compared to others, it is quite nice for a city the size of Peoria.... More

I have visited a lot of zoos and this one is one of my least favorite. It just doesn't have a lot to offer and since I don't live locally there isn't much reason for me to return...but it was a free day so it was "well worth the money!"
