I had not been here since I was younger, but a friend and I wanted to try some of the walking trails so we went and loved it. It has nice marked trails, some with more difficulty ( which is the one we tried). Very pleasant experience. I love being outside.

I took a walk in the Forest Park. I was welcomed by an exhibition which showcased the animals, birds and insects that are available. A handy self-guide map is given for newcomers. Once you start to walk, you don't hear any noises of the traffic and you can listen to a lot of different sounds made by the birds. There... More

Whether is summer or winter, spring or fall Forest Park Nature Center is a beautiful park where one can walk a mile loop through the forest valley or up to 4 miles up and down hills and trails. In the fall we've come upon a flock of wild turkeys that would fly straight up from the forest floor to the... More

This is the place to hike in Peoria. The hikes are well marked and the staff very helpful. It is a peaceful piece of heaven in a city.

Hundreds of acres of untouched prairie/ forest including several miles of hiking trails on the bluffs of the Illinois River. Great for fall walks and viewing colors of leaves on many different varieties of trees. Some trails are wheelchair accessible.

After a hard day at work or just to satisfy a craving for nature, Forest Park is just around the corner. There are paths of varying difficulty and you go so far into the woods that you forget you are right next to a large city. Walk down a trail, go around a corner and there is a group of... More

I have been a frequent visitor to the nature center for many years now. As a trail runner, I appreciate the variety of intensity levels available to enjoy. It is common to see deer and wild turkeys here. I still stop to take pictures!

This place makes all beautiful and scenic hikes. They have numerous spots where one can listen to birds. The folks in the gift shop and the office are helpful and friendly. They also host musical events.

Great place to hike. Nice marked trails. There are trails of many different lengths and difficulties. You can look at the map before taking off from the nature center and you can also download the map to your phone from there website. Nice change of scenery from the normal flat paths in central Illinios.
