....if you aren't already a believer. I went because my father worked at a Caterpillar plant most of his life and I wanted to understand the culture and history. Most people, including kids, will like to study the machines and simulators on display there. There are lots of videos--some in theaters and some on flatscreens scattered throughout the exhibit--about the... More

What a cool place! After buying your ticket, you enter the visitor's center on the second floor. Immediately, you're invited to view a brief video about Cat. You walk through a door into a theater.....and then you realize you're sitting in the bed of a 797 Caterpillar truck! It is incredible. There is a lady that will tell you a... More

Here is a chance to actually sit in several actual Caterpillar tractors and trucks and actually TOUCH EVERYTHING. And there where several simulators you could try. Superior static displays. WOW!

If this doesn't bring out the kid in you, nothing will. The first stop is a movie theater build in the dump bed of a mock up of a quarry dump truck. The displays are very educational, but the print is small and hard to read with all the kids running around on a Saturday. I am looking forward to... More

The interactive exhibits are really fun for school age children. They can pretend to climb on various tractors (four of them) and pretend to scoop dirt, etc with sophisticated machinery. After that, the museum might be much more interesting for adults. It's a nice place to spend 45 minutes to one hour and food is available across the street on... More

Visited the center during August 2013. It just shows, people are different. We decided to visit this attraction based on some very positive recommendations. What a disappointment. Having been to the Ford factory in Detroit we anticipated something similar. That was not to be. The best was the introductory video a la Disneyland style with vibrating chairs. The scene was... We spent a couple hours here, but I was a little disappointed. If you didn't work around these kind of machines it might be more fun to climb on and look at them. I was hoping to see more of the really big stuff I don't get to see on a regular basis. I also thought most of the displays... More

Depending on how in depth u want to be, you can learn a whole lot about trucks & machinery. It's very hands on. It's amazing how different each truck cab is. The employees are very friendly, helpful & knowledgable. It was very interesting.

It was awesome! From the movie at the beginning, where the CEO talks to you, while you are "sitting" in the back of a 797, the simulation that you are moving across the land. Climbing in and out of several trucks and then trying to move dirt with a backhoe simulator. Looking forward to going back and spending more time.

The visitor center is very easy to get to and their is plenty of FREE parking in the area. If you like the big machines that this is the place for an hour or two and it is attached to the new downtown muesum-----with a large I-Max TYPE theater.
