I visited this site during the My Waitrose free entry promotion and was pleasantly surprised by the location and facilities. Although it is a smaller reserve than others there is a great variety of birds and wildlife to see. Walking through the reed beds is an enjoyable experience in itself and as you reach a hide or lookout each view... More

I'm not an RSPB member, to visit this reserve I paid £4 to enter, I would have paid more. Parking is free and plentiful. There are facilities, including a cafe. Many bird hides along the walls around the nature reserve site and you can take in a large swathe of the estuary, where lots of bird life can be found,... More

We stopped off here on our way home from anglesey and what a lovely time we had. Both boys (aged 2 and 4) had a brilliant time. The staff were lovely and the 4 year old loved the sticker bingo chart he had to wear around his neck and find all the items. He loved finding the people with binoculars... More

Thus for us was an ideal meeting place to meet an old friend . The coffee was good and it was interesting to see how the cafe overlooked the wet area and we saw wading birds and swans . Just a very pleasant place to have s coffee . Shame you can't take dogs though . Surely one area of... More

We visit about once a year, varying the time of year that we visit each time so as to catch different species. This weekend we were very fortunate to see literally hundreds of swift catching insects on the wing over the pools, interspersed with swallows. Actual waterfowl/waders were thin on the ground however, a single lapwing and grey heron being... More

The RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve is just off the A55 at Junction 18, the parking area is reasonably big but gets very busy at times especially when there are special events on at the Reserve. The Main Entrance also houses a Gift Shop and beyond there's a café and toilets as well as a picnic area. This part of the... More

Love the wildlife, fantastic cafe with beautiful view, amazing shop. The volunteer staff are always extremely helpful and you can spend half a day easily wondering around the sanctuary, could be combined with another sightseeing trip on a day out.

Friendly welcome. Great to see still offering good value rental of very good binoculars. Good hides around the estate; wonderful to see the wild conwy ponies. Great mixture of seabirds. Only downside is the carpark gets locked at 5pm.

Called in on our way to Llandudno and spent a good 4hrs here. The shop is well worth having a look around as we got some Christmas cards and presents here. We borrowed some binoculars costing £3 hire charge which we didn't think was to bad and they were better than the ones we had brought with us. Lots of... More
