We spent a wonderful day at the RSPB reserve in August. The weather was very kind to us, warm and breezy. The children were given laminated sheets and stickers to check off the flora and fauna we found along the way. They had different sheets suitable for each of our 6, 7 and 10 year olds. They loved looking under... More

Stopped off here for lunch after the Conwy Half Marathon - a very pleasant cafe and shop awaited. The cakes and snacks were lovely and the service was efficient and friendly. I would go back if I was in the area.

Beautiful setting. Typical RSPB reserve which is great for enthusiasts and bird watchers but I found there wasn't much other than local birds (of the feathered variety, of course!) to see, which was a bit disappointing. Thought it would be teeming with wildfowl of all sorts. I may be ignorant though. . . Conwy Water Gardens seems a better place... More

Some contributors seem to have taken a dislike to the cafe which seems unfair. The staff were friendly enough and it was fine for coffee and a cake with nice views over the lagoons and bird feeders. Saw Snipe, Shell Duck,Wigeon and Redpoll whilst having a drink.. There is an excellent gift shop/visitor centre. It is best to walk the... More

Visited the cafe for a snack about 2 p.m. today. There is a sign that says they stop serving hot food at 2.30 p.m. but I would think half an hour is long enough before discontinuing hot food to expect a descent snack. We were served with 2 very small portions of luke warm homemade leek and potato soup -... More

If you are looking to visit the cafe at this place then don't bother. Never have I been treated so badly by an employee before, came to the RSPB as a group from the local university, and when we had spent at least 3 hours in the blistering cold we went to the cafe to purchase hot drinks and food,... Hi Jack I'm very sorry to hear of your experience, as this isn't what I want visitors to feel when they come to Conwy. Could you email me at conwy@rspb.org.uk with the date you were here so that I can check which staff were in that day, and discuss it with them? Thank you Julian More

Good cafe and art exhibition space. Ponies loose on the reserve. Lots of hides from which to view the birds.

I have visited RSPB Conwy many times in the last 4-5 years. It is perfect for a casual walk (as today) or serious birdwatching. It is also suitable for families with lots to see and child-friendly hides. The setting is fantastic - on the Conwy Estuary with Conwy castle nearby and high peaks of Snowdonia a little further away, which... More

I arrived here early on a Sunday morning on my way from Anglesey to Chester, though the visitor centre wasn't open I still walked down into the reserve and spend an hour or so wandering around and enjoying the views over the reserve. Lovely reserve and would definitely visit again.

We visited by chance today as the weather was lovely. It is so easy to find - off the roundabout from the A55. The parking was well laid out with plenty of space. All very clean and tidy. The shop/café were well presented with lots to choose from. The café has large windows overlooking the lake with the back ground... More
