No, I'm not one of those people who carries binoculars and a checklist. Yet, I was amazed at the variety of species, most of which I couldn't identify. What fun.

Very tranquil and flat-good for people with poor mobility, plenty of seats at regular locations (good for people with poor mobility) - cafe for refreshments. Plenty of birds to view. Shop excellent and good advice available.

I'm always impressed by the way volunteers have so much knowledge and so much enthusiasm that it makes a visit so very worth while.

We've never visited a RSPB site before and having just joined the organisation decided this was the opportunity to find out what all this 'twitching' is about. Well, all I can say is it was wonderful. The reserve has a lovely cafe, play area and shop. The reserve itself is laid out with a variety of walks dependent on how... More

This is one of the best nature reserves for families I have come across, so much to see and do for all ages. The cafe is good for lunch, snacks or just a decent coffee with one of the best views going! The reserve is great for birds all year round, always something interesting to see and the volunteers are... More

It's always good to keep in mind that natures reserves such as this one are primarily there to provide a safe haven for UK shrinking nature, and not so much about any café or shop they may have. If you look at the before and after photos of what they have achieved in 20 years it is truly amazing. I... More

This is a place we love to visit every year, this was our best visit to date. We saw so many birds and the scenery and wild flowers were outstanding. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the facilities perfect. The good weather was a bonus!
