High rate, horrible park staff, not very friendly. Visitor center isn't even aware of site rates or amenities. Really what a joke! Electric is all u get for a whopping $20 a night

This was the first park on our trip. As you enter the park there is a cave that is really neat. There are several hikes in this park. We liked that at the beginning of each hike there was a sign that told you a little about what you would see , the length of the walk, and difficulty level.... More

While waiting to check into our room -- we were told it was being cleaned -- we (my mother, sister and I) decided to have the chicken dinner. It wasn't as good as the chicken served at my local grocery store and it cost a heck of a lot more. Customer service was non-existent. After dinner, we waited another hour... More

I'm a Southern Illinois local and Giant City has to be one of my favorite area parks. The hiking is great, the scenery is beautiful, and the lodge offers great food at affordable prices. Personally if you are looking for a camping spot, I prefer either Little Grassy. They have a lot more lots to choose from and the location... More

I hike in this park every weekend for 3 years while going to school and I loved it in every season. I grew up with Starved Rock State Park in my back yard and this park put that one to shame. Do yourself a favor and see this one, it a true Illinois Gem!

I think it is overrated actually. Homestyle is just that...homestyle. Not much flavor...but the scenery is beautiful and worth the trip!

I've been to this park many times. My husband and I visited upon my insistence that he have the family style fried chicken. The restaurant was fairly busy when we were there for a late lunch. Our server was very friendly. She kept our drink glasses full and was very attentive. The fried chicken (which I've always raved about) was... More

Eat the chicken!! It was worth the trip. Climb the tower after the meal, it MIGHT work off the calories!

We spent a beautiful and peaceful weekend here. The fall color was phenomenal, the hikes were different and interesting. The cabins were nice, like a hotel suite at single room prices. The rooms have a refrigerator, but you don't get a kitchen. The Lodge has a nice roomy dining room with plenty of fast service. The locals come there to... More

I just detoured to cruise through this Park since I had never been here before. I stopped at the Visitors center and hiked for a hour or so, but this Park definately deserves more time. Beautiful falls colors right now!
