I went to Nordens Ark on September 2015. It is the positive alternative to a zoo : quality primes over quality. So you will maybe see animals from endangered species of the cold climates of Europe and Asia, in their large enclosures. It often means you have to look out for the animals. Thankfully for the snow Leopards and Amour... More

We went to Nordens Ark in July and there where quite a crowd, but the entrance queue went rather quick. I recommend to prebook tickets! The walk around the park where rather long so the youngest girl got kind of tired... Also she had problems spotting the animals since they live in rather big yards. The watersump area where indoor... Really nice park, not big but well taken care of. 4 hours is plenty.. Closeup contact with animals and a lot of nice view all over. We will defently come back here with our kids again.

More than a zoo. The animals have lots of space. Situated in a fantastic woodland. Quite a bit of walking and hilly but no steps. All walking is on good footpaths and suspended wooden walkways. Lots of playgrounds for kids and easy disabled access and suitability. Environmental projects and animal conservation work is fabulous. It gets really busy in high... More

This is great! My boyfriend and I visited it about 3 weeks ago, and we spent 6 hours or so walking around. There are -obviously- animals, but it is not only a zoo. They have research programmes and try to re-populate endangered species. Also, there's loads of nice games (for example a place where you can do long jump and... More

This place is always worth a visit (or more than one visit) at any time of year. All the animals are on the endangered list and kept in natural surroundings. Successful breeding programme (snow leopard, amur tiger etc). The annual season ticket is a good deal - or just a charitable contribution. Do not expect to see every animal in... More

A zoological park designed to accommodate extinction threatened spices.A scenic walking trail. But the chance to see all the animals are small,Amur tigers, snow leopards are timid animals.

We were a family consisting of 3 generations (seniors and 2 adults with their 2 daughters of 7 and 11) deciding suddenly to take the 2.5 hour's drive from Norway to visit a zoo we had not been to before. The weather was sunny but with a strong northerly wind so we took warm clothes with us. The roads are... More

I've quite a passion for wild animals and when I travel, the local zoo, wildlife park or aquarium is often my first port of call, especially if they house a lot of wildlife indigenous to that area. And I can honestly say that Nordens Ark is one of the best zoo's I've ever been to! It's incredibly well laid out... More
