We have been here several times and although it is a small zoo, it has a great variety of animals including cheetahs, camel, and flamingos. The train is a favorite of my kids and the playground just outside is outstanding. They also have a nice carousel as well. Good value and great for small children, as it is very stroller... More

Very small zoo. The best thing is the petting area. Otherwise, just not a lot to offer. We did enjoy the Halloween trick or treat they had. We are use to a larger zoo with lots and lots of animals. Not a lot of animals here.

We went to the Scovill Zoo and spent 2 hours walking the zoo and playing in the playground outside of the zoo. It was very reasonably priced, was clean and had well shaded areas on a very hot day. There was a larger selection of animals to see than I anticipated, and they have peacocks that walk freely around the... More

Scovill Zoo is a very nice little zoo. It is not huge but has an impressive line up of animals and thing to do. The newest exhibit is the penguin exhibit where kids can duck under a bubble and see the penguins all around. Very nicely done. Male Peacocks roam free and show off their beautiful feathers when courting the... More

We were in town to visit family. Husband grew up in Decatur, but we rarely explore due to time constraints. Another family member suggested the zoo for an afternoon outing, and it was fabulous! To start, my comparison is the free & gigantic St. Louis zoo and the smaller, costly Milwaukee zoo. Skovill certainly holds it's own and is worth... More

We have gone to Scovill Zoo many times over the past 15 years and our kids have always enjoyed it. This years addition of a relatively warm climate Penguin exhibit is a good fit. Don't expect ice but it has a cool water feature with a bubble to go inside and see from the middle. The train is a transplant... More

Its a small zoo. It has a merry-go-round and a train, as well as a small petting zoo. There are a few interesting animals here, and some free-running peacocks. Overall a nice little zoo.

A free playground and Japanese garden can be enjoyed before or after the zoo visit. Zoo is on the small side, but added attractions (with extra charges) such as the carousel and train ride made for a most pleasant excursion. The train ride goes behind some of the exhibits, which gives a better view of the cheetah and camel exhibits.... More

My husband and I went here for something neat and inexpensive to do. My dad used to take me here all the time growing up. I hadn't been in a long time and my husband had never been. I had been wanting to go because they have a brand new penguin exhibit. All the animals were out and pretty energetic.... More

My husband and I were visiting our Millikin student and were looking for something to do to fill a couple afternoon hours. We decided to check out the zoo and were glad we did! Cost was $6 for adults, I don't know the charge for kids. Upon entering there is a large playground and a carousel for children. Peacocks and... More
