Being small doesn't mean no quality, which Scovill has. Each area is well laid out. The exhibits could be glass cases-the Reptile House, behind cages-birds, out in the open-camel(1), gray wolf (1), penguins-several & cheetah (2). The enjoyable would be the goat pen. Every goat wanted to be petted, just need to watch out for goat droppings. Some animals will... More

This is a smaller zoo, but with a wide variety of wonderful animals. Very nice and clean. The zoo had a gift shop, a petting zoo and a train that you can ride around the outside of the whole zoo. The zoo is located right next door to a wonderful children's museum that you must include visiting on your trip.... More

This zoo is one the best in the area. Located next door to the Children's Museum Scovill zoo is great. Camels, red pandas, alligators, peacocks, penguins and much more. Spend a day and visit the zoo, play on the great playground, picnic in the gardens and then visit the museum!

We took our family to the zoo. The zoo is very well maintained and many things to see. Yes it may be a small zoo but Decatur should be very proud of this zoo. The animals are a great attraction to see. The price is very good and is well worth the time to take. A definite must see in... More

We love this Zoo! My 2 year old was so excited to see the animals. She walked most of the zoo. It had some really neat anim that ypu can see up close like the red panda and the penguins. The cutest thing was they had guinea pigs and they were very playful. The train was a blast. If you... More

Best zoo in central illinois. Way better than springfield zoo for sure. They are always clean, friendly and adding new animals and exhibits. Good place to take the kids.

For a town the size of Decatur this is a wonderful zoo! It has AZA accreditation. It is in a lovely location with picnicking and a very nice playground...Children's Museum is close by too. This is a true gem of a zoo and an asset to Decatur! They also offer activities for children and have Boo at the Zoo for... More

Definitely a cute little zoo. Lots of exhibits to see with the Penguins being one of our top favorites. The prices are great and worth the experience. My son loves this zoo and the extra perks are the train rides, carousal rides and the park outside the zoo.

Train, carrousel, pony rides, petting zoo, nice playground. As an adult, I covered it in less than a half hour because i didn't linger at each cage. Very pleasant grounds, nice assortment of animals.
