Really fun place! I have family and friends that work here they really care about the grounds and the animals. So much fun at Halloween time during boo at the zoo!

I have lived in Decatur most of my life, but have never been to Boo at the Zoo. This past weekend I was able to take my little grandson. The weather was cool ( 40-50), and cloudy. We all dressed warm and bought tickets to get treats and ride the train. We were there almost 2 hours. We took our... More

We took our grand children to this zoo, expecting more than what was seen. We would have had more fun on a farm in the middle of the desert. I was very disappointed with the exhibits. We now drive all the way to Saint Louis

Decent small zoo. A lot of good people working there. There isn't a lot there but what they have all looks well cared for.

This zoo is very nice and children friendly for this town. The town has put a lot into having a nice zoo. The people who work there are friendly and helpful,

Visited from Indiana during Labor Day weekend and yes this zoo is small compared to many others I've been to. Doesn't take more than an hour to view all the exhibits but young kids will love it. There is a carousel, train ride and large playground. A great way for a family to spend an afternoon together.

The zoo is smaller so its perfect for an afternoon visit. Plan extra time for the playground though or skip the zoo and just picnic and play (for free). Totally toddler approved. Inside the zoo, my toddlers are big fans of the carousel and train. They're worth the extra cost. The petting zoo is free. My 1-year-old loves chasing the... More

It's a small zoo, but it's close and inexpensive so a great place to spend the day. Combine it with a picnic and you're all set.

Being small doesn't mean no quality, which Scovill has. Each area is well laid out. The exhibits could be glass cases-the Reptile House, behind cages-birds, out in the open-camel(1), gray wolf (1), penguins-several & cheetah (2). The enjoyable would be the goat pen. Every goat wanted to be petted, just need to watch out for goat droppings. Some animals will... More

This is a smaller zoo, but with a wide variety of wonderful animals. Very nice and clean. The zoo had a gift shop, a petting zoo and a train that you can ride around the outside of the whole zoo. The zoo is located right next door to a wonderful children's museum that you must include visiting on your trip.... More
