Love the animals

I loved visiting with the animals especially the snake house and the penguins and they have a carousel and train ride for all to enjoy.

This zoo is just small enough that it doesn't overstimulate little ones, but there is enough variety to keep everyone entertained. You can walk through the zoo in less than an hour if you choose not to stop, or you can spend the entire afternoon watching the animals, taking pictures, reading about the displays. It's always an enjoyable time here!... More

Great surroundings in a family friendly zoo. Penguins, too! Train ride a bonus. A good place for a pleasant walk and relaxing time. Plenty of close parking.

Really fun place! I have family and friends that work here they really care about the grounds and the animals. So much fun at Halloween time during boo at the zoo!

I have lived in Decatur most of my life, but have never been to Boo at the Zoo. This past weekend I was able to take my little grandson. The weather was cool ( 40-50), and cloudy. We all dressed warm and bought tickets to get treats and ride the train. We were there almost 2 hours. We took our... More

We took our grand children to this zoo, expecting more than what was seen. We would have had more fun on a farm in the middle of the desert. I was very disappointed with the exhibits. We now drive all the way to Saint Louis

Decent small zoo. A lot of good people working there. There isn't a lot there but what they have all looks well cared for.

This zoo is very nice and children friendly for this town. The town has put a lot into having a nice zoo. The people who work there are friendly and helpful,

Visited from Indiana during Labor Day weekend and yes this zoo is small compared to many others I've been to. Doesn't take more than an hour to view all the exhibits but young kids will love it. There is a carousel, train ride and large playground. A great way for a family to spend an afternoon together.

The zoo is smaller so its perfect for an afternoon visit. Plan extra time for the playground though or skip the zoo and just picnic and play (for free). Totally toddler approved. Inside the zoo, my toddlers are big fans of the carousel and train. They're worth the extra cost. The petting zoo is free. My 1-year-old loves chasing the... More
