We loved this tour. We took it on a Sunday morning before we left for the airport and it was a great way to end the weekend. Packed with history and architecture of Chicago- the tour provides context to the city your are visiting. For those of you who read Devil in the White City- they reference that novel a... More

Well worth the time and money! You get to see Chicago from the Chicago River AND Lake Michigan. Plus very interesting and informative commentary on the many buildings and sites your sail by. Relaxing and fun. Be prepared for when you go out onto Lake Michigan as the waters can get a little rougher, the temperatures colder, and the ride... More

It was a perfect day to take the not to be missed Architecture River Tour of Chicago. We had such a great time and learnt a lot. Very informative, jam packed with history of the structures that line the river through downtown Chicago. It was a great way to see the city. Be sure to take your camera for all... More

Somewhat pricey, but you get a lot of knowledge about the architecture and history of the city. Additionally, you see the buildings and landscaping from a close-up, different vantage point than you can see normally. It's also a pleasant ride and a change of pace. I thought it was worth the time and money.

The best thing we did in Chicago was taking up the First Lady Cruise. Exciting and memorable. The guide gave a detailed download on the history of the town along with naming the important buildings on our way on both sides of the river. There were tips shared to have a best of Chicago in terms of food and fun.

This tour, led by a volunteer from the Chicago Architecture Foundation, is a must do for a visit to Chicago. On the day we did the tour, it was bitterly cold, but nevertheless the tour guide kept on throughout with fascinating information about the city and its buildings. A great way to see the city.

Definitely do this if you're a first timer. Useful for history and for getting an idea of the layout, plus some real American history. Our docent was great. We even went in the pouring rain, and it was still enjoyable.

It's a must do in Chicago, they know their stuff and bring the city's architecture alive! It's a great trip, we have done it 3 tomes and would do it again.
