Super docent led tour

90 minute trip on the Chicago River. A little history's, a few jokes but a lot of insight into why the sky line is what it is. I would recommend this to anyone.

There are many boat tours to choose from, but this one is sponsored by the Architecture Foundation, so we had heard it's the best. The tour is led by a docent from the foundation. These docents lead the tours just because they love to - - no tips allowed! Wow, did he know his stuff. He talked non-stop for 90... More

Awesome way to see Chicago and to learn a little about the city that you wouldn't normally here! Make sure you bring your camera and try to plan for a clear day so you can see everything

We did a few walking tours but this was unique and different. Glad we got to see the perspective from the water. This was highly recommended to us and we would also highly recommend to others.

This is the third tour I've taken over the years in Chicago. By far, this one is the best. Our docent, Bill, a retired attorney, was filled with knowledge about Chicago's history, architecture, urban planning, and how the city works. He was humorous and brilliant in his 90 minute presentation. It's hard to believe how much I learned during the... More

Fantastic way of seeing the architectural wonders of Chicago and hearing about the history of the various periods of the city's growth and each of the architectural styles/unique buildings. The tour director was extremely knowledgeable - as a 'volunteer' certainly was proud of his city. Would recommend taking the cruise in the morning, particularly if the day is shaping up... More

This tour is a great way to see the city without having to walk a thousand miles. The tour guides are volunteers from the architecture society, so they are well informed and very articulate. The tour lasts a full 90 minutes, but they serve beverages and snacks below the observatory so if you need a small bite, it is steps... More

Great tour!!! Very informed guide (Ronnie) who made the architectural history very interesting. The boat was clean and spacious, with plenty of deck space for everyone to sit outside and they have a bar on board :)
