Music so loud the table shook. It wouldn't have been so bad had the music been decent. It was no more blues than Mozart. Server very good and quick - the place was not jumping as it usually is mainly because of the music I would think. Food OK. Very disappointing as we have been there often and usually had... More

My husband and I went to the House of Blues for dinner with another couple on a Saturday night in February. We had no problem getting a table right away. The atmosphere is causal and the server was very friendly, helpful and prompt. I had narrowed my meal selection down to 3 items and he recommended the Southwest Chicken sandwich.... More

If you're deeling in need of spiritual uplift with your breakfast, then head for the House of Blues Gospel Sunday Brunch. The choir and solo performers are energetic, talented and excellent. The brunch itself is also very good with lots of fresh salads, peel 'n eat shrimp, bacon, pork sausages, fried chicken, scrambled eggs and plentiful side dishes. You may... More

Went here as a group on their Marti Gras "bead night". Thought the music was alright, the place itself ok, but the waitress we had, terrible personality. Just seemed like someone who didn't enjoy their job, and had no plans of faking it. Might have been a different experience if we had a different sever, but this was not the... More

We recently went to House of Blues for a Cowboy Mouth concert. We made reservations at the restaurant just for convenience, and really did not have particularly high expectations. We were very surprised when we loved the place! The server was excellent, and every knowledgeable about the menu. She also made good drink recommendations. The food was excellent. We had... More

Service was the only thing that was good. Lady had fish tacos - which were very tiny portion. Very small piece of fish for >$10/ Seafood gumbo was not bad, but nothing special. Maybe this just is not a place to grab lunch.

I came to the House of Blues in Chicago for the first time about 10 years ago and had a wonderful "blues dinner" at night by the lower stage with local live blues band. I went back last October for the Sunday Gospel brunch and regrettably it was almost empty for our seating (fist of 2 brunch seatings). This being... More

We have been to the House of Blues Chicago 2x, both times for Gospel Brunch (Sunday am). I've heard great things about their night time concerts, but haven't personally been. The physical location is quite cool. Very eclectic, so much to see, ornate, interesting southern art, music memorabilia, very cool vibe. There are stairs from entrance up into the arena/concert... The music was great, but a bit loud for a restaurant. The food prices weren't too bad for downtown Chicago, but the food was just okay. The service was a little slow, but I didn't mind because we just enjoyed the music. When we left, they gave us free tickets to the show upstairs.

We went to see Sister Hazel, last weekend. Guests of my boss and his wife, who are solid fans. I can see why - very talented band! The venue is great fun, with a lot of levels and various places to sit or stand. Good, friendly service from everyone. The only reason this visit didn't earn an Excellent rating is... More
