As every reviewer notes, the views are unparalleled for a bar in Chicago. The drinks are a bit on the expensive side and the scene admittedly has a tourist vibe but certainly warrants a drink or two on a weekend trip to Chicago.

We came to the tower to see the view. Originally we planned to go up to the observatory where you have a 360 degree view of the city. As we heard that it costs 20 dollars to go up and that you can go to the signature lounge on the 96th floor for free to have a drink, we chose... More

I went there on a Sunday. It gets really busy before sunset but if you get there early enough and have some $$ for drinks and some snacks, you can enjoy some of the most gorgeous views in the city. We were there just long enough to witness a beautiful sunset, and watch the lights slowly come on bringing a... More

Don't go here! The Bar Manager was the rudest American we've ever encountered. There are 2 levels. The upper level had a nice window table, which was unoccupied. He said it was "unavailable" as he was waiting for a "larger party." We were a party of 2. Twenty minutes later a party of 3 arrived, and he made the table... More

Who would know that you'll see the best view of Chicago at the women's washroom? I recommend if you're 21+ years old, then go to signature lounge instead of going to observatory where you have to pay for the entrance. With the entrance fee, you'll be able to get a glass of cocktail or other drink.

We did the Lounge as it was recommended by locals. No cost involved just ride the elevator to the lounge and get a seat better view than the observation deck

We visited the Hancock Tower a few years ago and paid for the observation floor, which was cool and an amazing view. This trip, we opted to go to the Signature Lounge a floor or 3 below the top, which has no fee and you pay for a relatively expensive drink that costs less than the admission to the observation... This is the perfect place for a nightcap. The view is amazing (especially from the women's bathroom). There's no charge to come up, but you are expected to make a purchase in the lounge. I usually have drinks and dessert. A must do in Chicago at night!

The place was packed when we were there and for some reason only one guy was behind the bar. It took forever to get our drinks. But the martini was really good and strong so it was ok :) Go to this place and pay $16 for a strong drink instead of going a floor up to the skydeck for... More

Great view of the city at night. The bar is a bit of a zoo, with some significant wait times for a table. Poor quality wine served at a premium price. But the view is great!

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
