Visiting Chicago for the first time with my parents we had heard that The Lounge was a wonderful alternative to the observation deck at the Hancock Center. While the employees themselves were kind and doing their best, the food was riduclously bad for the price (bland, tiny servings except for massive amounts of potato chips on the side). With the... We were going to pay to go to the Observation desk but the concierge suggested that we just went for drinks- money much better spent! The view was great and we were fortunate enough to get a window seat- cocktails are approx $16 but so worth it as an observation ticket was $19. Didn't feel rushed even though there was... More

Just as I say in the title... Go to the Signature Lounge instead!! Seriously! I had an amazing cocktail for $15 bucks, relaxed and watched the sun set. It was busy, but not overly crowded. The bathrooms have the best views in the house.

My colleague from Chicago kept encouraging us to go here for a great view of the skyline - AMAZING VIEW!!!!! I took the best pictures in the women's restroom (lol) there's a huge window in there and it's a breathtaking view of the city at night. Some of my friends complained about the quality of their drinks, but other than... More

Wait time is not too long if it is after 9. Drinks are OK, but you are paying for the view. Try to sit close to the window though.

This is a must visit Chicago place. It serves some good food (but not the best) but wwho cares when the views are so spectacular. It's very well priced especially if you compare with other places so it's a great deal. Also, there is no entrance fee. I prefer it over Sears (aka Willis Tower) any day. It is definitely... More

Staff at the Museum of Contemporary Art around the corner suggested we stop by for a drink and the view. There was about a 15 minute wait on a Sunday late afternoon to get up to the lounge (there was a line to the elevator) and we started wondering if it was really worth the wait. Well, it definitely was!... More

John Hancock is a 100 storey tower. When built in 1968, it was world's tallest outside New York! The attraction 360 Chicago is competition to Willis Tower's Skydeck. I would recommend to go Signature Lounge at 95th and enjoy a drink or some food over the same beautiful view of the city.. That would be worth it than to pay... More

A great place for coffee and cheesecake in Chicago. Surprisingly it is not so overprized, no entrance fee either. Definitely a better choice than Willis tower, as it is not as overcrowded and you have time to relax and enjoy the view, while drinking a fancy cocktail. It is worth the visit!

This place is good for one drink max, just to enjoy the views. The service is OK, but the view from a window seat is great. I think going for one drink was a great idea, how often can you have a drink 96 floors up?

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
