Went to a Friday night sold out show at the Metro. This theater is about 95% standing room only with a very small amount of seating with small tables in the balcony. We sat up in the balcony and were lucky enough to get two tables. The view was good and the sound was good. There is a large bar... More

I was in Chicago on business and just could not pass up the opportunity to see Bad Religion in concert at the Metro. It was my first time there and couldn't have asked for a better night out. Got right in with no problem and I liked that the merch is off to the left in a separate area, which... More

My husband & I had planned a multi city US trip for my 50th birthday and once I had googled what was on in Chicago I came across this event & decided to book tickets. So glad I did. It reminded me of how real gigs used to be years ago before the huge venues& arenas took off. Small intimate... More

My husband, a friend and I had tickets to see Bob Mould with Margaret Cho. We've seen other shows there over the years. The venue is great but the ladies' room is on the third floor. The acoustics are great and the service is good at the bars.

I have been going to shows at the Metro for about 15 years. From Indie rock to hardcore and metal the Metro allows fans to be up close and personal with the bands like live music should be. The Metro is full of history and seems to be an essential stop for emerging artists and established bands who prefer an... More

I have been going to Metro for more than 20 years and it is still one of my favorite places to see a band. The sound is great. Atmosphere is just cool. I am not a huge fan of Smart Bar anymore. I liked it better dark and grungy.

Saw J Roddy Walston and the Business here last night. While some of the patrons were a bit rude the staff was friendly. The sound was ok although I felt you couldn't hear the vocals that well. The women's restroom was on the top floor which was inconvenient if you were downstairs. We would go there again.

The Metro is conveniently close to the L-Train, just near Wrigley Field. As a concert hall its adequate. Not comfortable, but cool. Great music selection and after show store. Reasonable priced beer and drinks. Concert was more late than fashionable, but closeness to the stage is a visitor's choice. Good place.

1100 of our closest friends saw Glen Hansard in this Lalapalooza pre-show. Great sound, lighting, and standing on the upstairs rail with an incredible artist and his band made for a perfect night. Park on street early or there is a private pay lot for $20 right across the street.

Aimee Mann and Ted Leo performed an amazing show! The writing and music was full of energy and engagement!

Staying in Wrigleyville

Neighborhood Profile
This energetic sub-neighborhood, part of the larger Lakeview neighborhood, has a split personality. In the daytime you can stroll along its streets and enjoy a quiet meal, shop for gifts, walk along the row homes or sit peacefully in Graceland Cemetery. After dark, the neighborhood springs to life. Go bar-hopping along Addison and Sheffield Avenue or join the crowd at the historic Wrigley Field for live music. If there’s a Chicago Cubs baseball game in town, be prepared. Cubs fans can get a little rowdy and may prove to be a bit overwhelming if you're not expecting it.
