Aimee Mann and Ted Leo performed an amazing show! The writing and music was full of energy and engagement!

This place is old. The acoustics do kind of suck. But it's the Metro! The history here is indescribable! It's a cool, old art deco venue that has been my stomping grounds for years. I still love going there, even if I am now older and more responsible. If you haven't been to the Metro, you haven't really experienced Chicago!!

I saw Flying Lotus in May of last year at the Metro. The architecture of the exterior of the building harkens back to the late 20s, and literally sings class. It's a spectacular venue for music, with great acoustics, friendly staff and a choice location -- it's right near Wrigley, so I used my iphone's park whiz app to book... More

Clean, cheap! Old trains, nice stations. A great way to go from the city to Wrigley field - either tour or game. The train lets off right next to the stadium.

We saw Glen Hansard here, he was fabulous and brought down the house. It is great to research ahead of time or simply hear all of the great bands that have played here. It makes you wish you could have seen them all at this special place. The only negative is you have to stand, sound quality was better than... More

I saw the Shout Out Louds and Haerts at the Metro recently and was NOT disappointed. This is the perfect venue to see a performance in an intimate setting but with few sacrifices for sound quality or amenities. No matter where you stand on the lower level you are close enough to make eye contact with the performers and the... More

Proximity to Wrigleyville is great. Acoustics are HORRIBLE. But that's ok. You're probably not seeing a symphony here anyways.

The trains are old and tacky. Virtually empty and hence scary. There are no train indicators at the stations. No ticket counters with people to help. Trains are almost 30 minutes apart on some routes. It gets cold and lonely waiting for trains. Avoidable but cheap.

If you are just visiting, it's an experience unto itself. Makes getting around a bit of an adventure. The big thing is you don't have to worry about parking downtown if that's where you are headed, and it is mapped out pretty well with stops convenient to tourism sites. Doesn't get close enough to the museum campus. They should spell... More
