Owner description: The Lookingglass Theatre Company seeks to redefine the limits of theatrical experience and to make theatre exhilarating, inspirational, and accessible to all.Through theatre, which invites, even demands, interaction with its audience, the company's goal is to fire the imagination with love, to celebrate the human capacity to taste and smell, weep and laugh, create and destroy, and wake up where we first fell --- changed, charged and empowered.

We've been to two productions and they keep you on your toes. Lookingglass is an intimate theater where every square inch is used by the actors. The plays are very artistic for every generation: We had a party of 7 people, including 3 generations and we all thought the productions were fantastic. The pricing is very reasonable-so if you see... More

I took my daughter for her 16th birthday to see Lookingglass Alice. I think she was expecting a boring play, wow was she surprised. The multi-talented actors were so impressive, I sat there in awe of what I was watching. The play was fast-paced with amazing creativity and was absolutely hilarious. This was a tour de force, you will not... More

I saw their new production of David Catlin's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland/Through the Lookingglass called 'Lookingglass Alice' last night, and I would recommend seeing this show to anyone - adults, children and anyone in between. They pull off the impossible. My jaw had to have been hanging open the whole time. I'll definitely be seeing it again before the... More

They have an amazingly talented group of actors and their shows are mesmerizing. I work in the tourism industry in Chicago and get free tickets to a lot of venues—Goodman, Oriental, Lyric Opera, Chicago Theatre. They're all great too, but the Lookingglass shows I've seen have been better than anything else. Highly recommend this hidden gem. The theater space itself... More

We have heard about this theater, but never really knew where it was. We finally bought tickets and decided to find it. It exceeded our expectations. A great small theater on the Magnificant Mile. The acting was amazing and the theater held about 200-300 people. Just right. Great location for tourists staying in nearby hotels.

I enjoyed seeing a local theatre group while in Chicago. They did a great job. The play was fantastic. I also enjoyed going into and seeing the old building.

We really enjoyed the thought provoking, funny and sad production of "The Death Tax. " It was well performed in an intimate, austere theater setting. Interestingly. The theater is found inside the old Water Works Building. We plan to return on our next visit to Chicago.

We saw "Death Tax". It was very well acted. I love theatre that gets a lot done without all the fancy sets, etc. We did have quite a bit of trouble actually locating the theatre. It is in the Water Tower building. There are signs, but they are not obvious for visitors. Ticket prices are reasonable and can be obtained... More

I have never been disappointed by anything I have seen at Lookingglass. It is intimate theatre at its very best. The location is great whether you live in the area or are staying at a hotel in downtown Chicago. I always park in the John Hancock lot where there is validated parking. This is very close to the theatre.
