After going to a couple plays in the last few years, I signed on as a subscriber this year and next. The plays are always a bit out of the ordinary and the actors are so energetic and fun. Especially love how they incorporate acrobatics into most plays, even those you would not expect. More

Centering most of the emphasis on movement, this company manages to tell some truly beautiful stories. Top notch and professional, they always manage to keep things fresh and new even within the limitations of a sparse stage. Worth experiencing. Plenty to do in the area before and after shows! More

Lookingglass has always been an innovative theatre, emphasizing physical action (acrobatics, stilt walking) and specializing in adaptations. Their most famous show, Metamorphoses, is coming back in Fall 2012. A Mary Zimmerman spectacular, it's not to be missed. If you see only one show in Chicago this fall, this should be it. More

The charm and intrigue of Lookingglass Theatre is rooted in its being a black box. Each time the production changes so does the set up of the seating. Recently for Rick Bayless' Cascabel where the attendees had a meal served to them bringing them into the production. Lookingglass is very forward thinking and creative. More

Awesome find. A black box theater, it changes each time. Sometimes plays you say--meh, but more often a wow. The "Mr. Dickey Calls a Meeting" about baseball says it all. As a non-sports person, I thought--huh? But it was way more than baseball..which is why we subscribe and easily can change dates, when needed. More

Unpredictable, and fast paced. Good for older children as well. More

Saw "Cascabel" last weekend during our trip to Chicago. WOW! I was a bit skeptical spending nearly $500 on 2 tickets, but it was totally worth it. If there are any tickets available, go see this show. Rick Bayless was really good ... and he mostly does what he does best -- COOK! The acrobatics and gymnastics were amazing (not... More

A love story, amazing human feats, a Rick Bayless three course meal, PLUS he dances a mean tango! If you appreciate Chef Bayless' love of the Mexican culture and food you will be elevated to another level. It just doesn't get any better than this. A MUST see. Bravo lookingglass!!! More

We love live theater, and this is one of our favorites, particularly the acrobatic productions they often do. It's a very small, intimate theater-in-the-round setting but once you're caught up in the show, the space no longer matters. Seeing a production in the historic water treatment plant adds another level of enjoyment for us, so we return here often. Most... More
