Lookingglass Theater is right on Michigan Avenue easily accessible to all hotels, buses, and trains. Most of their offerings are great, not only for adults, but for children of all ages. They say that it is theater without a net, and many of their plays are physical theatrical events--halfway to Cirque. This is a great theater for residents as well... More

The theatre is a small black box style--not much adornment. That allows you to focus your entire attention to the stage, where the cast will blow you away! We saw "The Little Prince," which was tremendously creative, visually stunning, and mesmerizing. Great location, too, on Michigan Avenue. Go around the corner after the show and eat pizza at Gino's!

Lookingglass has a reputation in Chicago for unique adaptations. Their theatre is a flexible space, which is really nice, so they can change it to meet their needs. We saw "The Little Prince", which was an adaptation of a French children's story. The actors were great, and there were some unusual effects. The location is good, on Michigan Avenue near... More

Just saw "Le Petit Prince" and must say that the experience was one of the best I ever experience. If you are looking for a true theatrical experience with great actors, small setting,, great views... this the place for you. I loved the size of the theater and how you feel part of the play. The use of sound, light... More

The theatre produces very physical performances, often using gymnastic and circus type maneuvers with minimal, innovative sets. Lookingglass is very visual in their productions, often adapting books. Great location for pre theatre dinner or touring.

What a show! We were so impressed by the company, especially the young actress who played the prince. The show was full of absurd characters, flying, acrobatics, comedy, and music--a full palette of entertainment. The house--nearly full--was intimate and had an industrial vibe. There was a cash bar selling a variety of beverages, snacks, and souvenirs of the show and... More

This quaint theater is located in the old water tower building on north michigan. The theater seats a few hundred and is always a good value.
