Beautiful cathedral. Not to miss. Chicago has some great cathedrals, and this one is tops! Elegant, ornate, beautiful and is great to visit.

One of the Rites off becoming a Catholic was to attend a Rite of Receiving at Holy Name. It was spectacular in all ways...the service, the ritual, the acceptance. An honor to have been there.

This is truly a great place to see a baseball game, even if you care little about the home team. The fans are spirited an knowledgeable. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The facility itself is like a living museum, and just about every seat in the stadium is a good one (except for obstructed view on the lower level).... More

This church was a block away from our hotel so we stopped in for a visit to see the architecture after finding out about it online. Wow, we were completely blown away. It's really a shame that this level of craftsmanship has all but disappeared. This place is beautiful and great for a hobby photographer like my spouse. Check it... More

We had been to Lurie Children's Hospital to support friends during their child's surgery. Holy Name is probably two blocks away and there is daily masses. Perfect to give thanks. Hadn't been inside in years, forgot how beautiful. Stop and say a prayer. God is great.

I enjoy visiting all kinds of houses of worship in new places. These offer a quiet space for rest and reflection. Holy Name Cathedral would never be on a "must do" list of Chicago for me; however, it did have a stunning wood ceiling and some beautiful sculptural elements on either side of the altar. If you happen to be... More

This was a stop on the Chicago Crime Tour as it was a location for a mob shooting of Northsider Hymie Weiss. We stopped to see the small cross on the right side of the main steps that was part of the ulcer spray from the shooting.

This is a beautiful Catholic cathedral near the Magnificent Mile. The wheelchair entrance is to the side of the main steps. There is an elevator just inside the door.

The Holy Name Cathedral is splendid! I particularly enjoyed the stained glass, the blue ones. The dome of this cathedral is also spectacular.
