Fantastic cathedral, design and decor is definitely up to european standards. However, I found the assumption church to be nicer than this. Just my personal feeling. Also, there is no store within the church selling artifacts.

Whenever my wife and I are in Chicago we go to mass at Holy Name Cathedral. It is a beautiful Church and the choir is phenomenal. Whether you are religious or not the architecture is a marvel and rivals St.Patrick's in New York.

We were in Chicago for a wedding in this cathedral. Absolutely beautiful site and wonderful atmosphere. Probably not interesting to travellers who are not practising Christians.

I have been to many European Cathedrals and from the outside, I expected this Cathedral to be similar. It is pretty modern inside, but not in an offensive way. The ceiling is gorgeous! Went to Mass and it was a wonderful break to a busy day sightseeing.

Lovely mass, choir and a great sermon on doing for others. The church had a lot on beauty in the s rained glass and the cross was unlike any I had seen where our Lord was suspended in mid air surrounded by the cross which was also suspended high above the alter.

I am a fan of pipe organs. Holy Name is noted for its outstanding music program from, now deceased, Richard Proulx. Mr. Proulx is one of the most prolific sacred music composers in the United States. Holy Name is also home to one of the largest Flentrop Orgelbouw pipe organs in the world. Flentrop is noted as the "Rolls Royce"... More

Beautiful cathedral, well kept, inspiring. We were in Chicago during the lying in state of their Cardinal Francis George. The staff and volunteers were patient with the crowds coming and going, and the church was still very peaceful. Near the mag mile- take a spell out here for contemplation

Stopped in to the church. Such beauty and history can be found. A very peaceful, prayer-filled space. I recommend you stop in when visiting Chicago!

Beautiful church. We were not able to attend mass but spent some time in quiet prayer. Worth your time to stop by.
