This is a beautiful, historic gem from the 1880's. I enjoyed the ornate interiors. The Anniversary Show was stunning with a great variety of performers. I was lucky to be there!

Attended the 125th anniversary event at the Auditorium Theater. It was a great event. Some historical facts of the building include - tallest building in Chicago when it opened, had bowling alleys installed in the 1940s to support the troops, and both the CSO and the Chicago Opera use to perform at the theater. Fun night - and the seats... More

We saw Joffrey Ballet's Swan Lake in this beautiful theater - just one of the great treasures of the city. The ushers were providing some trivia of the theater's history, and apparently it was the first (or one of the first) buildings with both electric lighting and air conditioning, back in the 1890s. If you're looking for a classy evening... More

The appearance of this theater is unsurpassed and it is 125 years old. Everywhere you look from the entrance to the performance space is a treat for the eyes and don't miss the gift shop. In addition we saw an unsurpassed dance program by Thodos Dance Chicago, as good as it gets.

auditorium theater is one of the most amazing landmarks in Chicago. When you enter, imagine what it was like in the 1890's to arrive on a horse drawn carriage. The acoustics are outstanding and there are no bad seats.

The Auditorium Theater, an architectural marvel, is one of the great sights of Chicago. It is the home of the superb Robert Joffrey Ballet. We saw their "Swan Lake" there (on October 25), and it was a splendid performance, all the better for taking place in such a great venue.

As a frequent visitor to Chicago, I have visited the Auditorium Theatre many times, for many different events and apparently, I have always purchased "the good seats" with the higher to highest ticket price. Yesterday, however, when attending the ballet, my "last minute" ticket in the upper reaches of the balcony proved a bit of a challenge. This is a... More
