Our Chicago Greeter told us about the tour of this theatre and we were so glad! It was a perfect introduction to some of the great architecture in Chicago. Our tour group was very small because I think people don't know about this theatre and they don't run tours every day. But if you have a chance, take this tour!

Attended Joffrey Ballet rendition of Romeo and Juliet on May 3rd. Spent the extra money for good seats, second row in the middle. Well worth the investment. The company was excellent. Theater is beautiful.

We've been to several performances here, including The Nutcracker, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, and two Joffrey Ballet performed interpretations of Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet. We've never had any really bad seats, though the boxes are so far lateral that it can be a strain to follow the performance. The acoustics are good. As grand as it is, the theatre is... More

This building is as grand today as it was when it opened in the 19th century. I have enjoyed many performances here--most notably those of the Joffrey Ballet. The acoustics are excellent, as are the sight lines for most seats In the Orchestra, Dress Circle, and First Balcony sections. I do not recommend the box seats.

I have seen a number of different performances here but am here most often to see the Joffrey Ballet. My favorite seats are in the Mezzanine, though there aren't many truly bad seats in the theater. The sound quality is fine. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase in the lobby. Speaking of the lobby my one complaint about the... More

Saw Anthony Bourdain here last year. We were practically sitting in the rafters (be prepared for the long walk up) and it was mayhem. They were telling people to sit anywhere they'd like upstairs. People were getting really angry about it and complaining well into the show quite loudly. It was incredibly hot as well. And the place just feels... More

I am truly sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that occurred during your visit to the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. We strive to ensure each of our guests enjoys the first-class service one would expect from a historic institution such as ours. From your description of the incident, it appears we failed. For that, I apologize. I know... More

Saw The Nutcracker by the Joffrey Ballet at the Auditorium Theatre. Sat in the third row of the first balcony. great sight lines and acoustics. Comfortable seats, with plenty of room between rows. It is a wonderful venue, thankfully preserved, and still in use.

Good acoustics and view. Avoid upper balcony. There is no assistance to help you find your seat, very narrow aisles, and it's hot. I still recommend this theater as a great venue for musicals or concerts!
