For a celebration of the life and times of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in Chicago is a proper venue. T's as ornate as the Oriental Theatre and each provide a wonderful background for the productions they house. In this case, I came to see the annual production of Too Hot to Handel, the... More

We went here to see the Nutcracker Saturday afternoon, amazing architecture, good lighting, comfortable seats, and a well played rendition of the timeless ballet.

The Nutcracker as Chicago has known for so many years will end the season and an era soon. The current version will be updated and an entirely new snd refreshed Nutcracker will begin next season. It was my first time seeing the Nutcracker and it was magical. This is my second show at the auditorium theater and it's a magnificent... More

Came here to see the Joffrey Ballet in The Nutcracker with my granddaughters, daughter in law and my mother. Had a great time. It is a beautiful theater. Clean, helpful staff. Would go again any time. Loved it!

Worst front of house (ticket takers and front entrance) I've ever encountered. They act as if they are driving cattle, not welcoming patrons. The place is a zoo. If I spent $600 to take my family to a wonderful restaurant, we'd be welcomed, assisted and treated with courtesy. AVOID THIS THEATER AT ALL COSTS. Spend your money at the Lyric... More

Great tour, very reasonable ($10) and take about 1 1/2 hrs. Amazing space with an interesting history. Only disappointment was not seeing backstage.

I'm still giggling thinking back on his readings Friday night. I love him. The unfortunate part of the evening was the Auditorium policy of allowing drinks at seats during the performance. My wife and bought 2 seats together. We were split up due a red wine spill all over the seat and back of one of our chairs. It was... More

The ambience sets the stage for a fine Joffrey Ballet performance. The building is encased in gold. The atmosphere breathes classic. No seat is bad here. The orchestra can be enjoyed throughout the auditorium. The dancing is prime. This is an experience that resonates all of one's senses!

We've enjoyed many events in this wonderful venue, but recently, a church began services at 10:00am on Sunday, opening this wonderful auditorium to the public. The church services are also a wonderful experience, and if you park in Grant Park, the church will provide a free voucher.
