We enjoyed Tango Buenos Aires at this 125 year old theatre. It is very beautiful with ornate and elaborate architecture from it's time. The seating provides ample leg room and all seats appear to have unobstructed views of the stage. A must see even if you don't enjoy a performance at this iconic theatre.

Thank you for your visit! We are glad you enjoyed Tango Buenos Aires and our theatre! When it opened in 1889, many called the Auditorium Theatre the 8th Wonder of the World. In fulfillment of our Mission, we are undertaking projects to return the theatre to its original opulent appearance. For more information or to make a donation, please call... More

The theatre itself is gorgeous-- incredible architecture and as they are celebrating their 125th year, it's neat to hear/see all the different acts that have crossed this stage. We went to see Too Hot to Handel and it was AWESOME. Incredible soloists, great band/orchestra and fun choir. I'd definitely recommend it. This was their tenth year hosting it, so check... More

Thank you for your kind words about our theatre. We are proud to present Too Hot to Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah each year in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and look forward to next year's performances. We are also pleased to hear that you received the first-class service one would expect from an institution such as ours. We... More

This is a beautiful, historic gem from the 1880's. I enjoyed the ornate interiors. The Anniversary Show was stunning with a great variety of performers. I was lucky to be there!

Attended the 125th anniversary event at the Auditorium Theater. It was a great event. Some historical facts of the building include - tallest building in Chicago when it opened, had bowling alleys installed in the 1940s to support the troops, and both the CSO and the Chicago Opera use to perform at the theater. Fun night - and the seats... More

Classic nutcracker ballet. Well done. Theater clean, everyone friendly and helpful. Easy to bur tickets online, lines managable. Many areas to but drinks and snaks

We saw Joffrey Ballet's Swan Lake in this beautiful theater - just one of the great treasures of the city. The ushers were providing some trivia of the theater's history, and apparently it was the first (or one of the first) buildings with both electric lighting and air conditioning, back in the 1890s. If you're looking for a classy evening... More

The appearance of this theater is unsurpassed and it is 125 years old. Everywhere you look from the entrance to the performance space is a treat for the eyes and don't miss the gift shop. In addition we saw an unsurpassed dance program by Thodos Dance Chicago, as good as it gets.

auditorium theater is one of the most amazing landmarks in Chicago. When you enter, imagine what it was like in the 1890's to arrive on a horse drawn carriage. The acoustics are outstanding and there are no bad seats.
