Neil Tobin is disarmingly laid-back & personable, putting his audience at ease to laugh with him and just have a great time with this Chicago lore. He will also blow your mind with his magic. You might not notice his magic, because he seamlessly makes you believe you are inside the ghost stories and that the ghosts are doing it... More

Neil Tobin is a wonderful magician. If you're a person with a vivid imagination, he's great fun and helps bring a group of strangers (or "audience", as they say in show business) together to laugh and have some good fun. He encourages his audience to show up after a few drinks, which I'm completely down with. His stage presence is... More

I saw the show in 2012. I liked that this purchase came with a free drink or 2 but I felt like I was just at a cheap magic show. I was expecting to hear "REAL" ghost stories surrounding the Chicago area just like the ghost tours I did in New Orleans. Instead, I got a David Copperfield wannabe who... More

I'm sorry the show didn't connect with you. People come to Supernatural Chicago with a vast range of preconceptions, and clearly the interactive magic and psychic aspects weren't part of yours; the performance is a roughly 50/50 split between documented Chicago paranormal stories and interactive demonstrations, but I can see how it might feel like the balance was different based... I was entertained. :) I went on 1/18/13, as the kick off to my birthday weekend. I wanted to do something a little different, and I didn't know too much about the ghost happenings in Chicago. (I know crazy since I've lived in Chicago for most of my life)... It's wasn't incredibly scary, but then... it isn't meant to. He... More

Did you know you can get four great drinks and one hour+ of pure fun for only 25? I didn't until I went to supernatural Chicago. I learned a bit about the city's great history, and got to laugh and smile a lot. Neil is a great host and is very attentive. He even stayed after the show and chatted... More

You had four drinks? The tickets usually only include two. No wonder you were in a good mood! In all seriousness, thank you for your very kind review. I'm so glad you had a great time—I know I did! And during your brief visit to Chicago, I'm honored that you chose to include Supernatural Chicago in your itinerary. Thanks again. More

This show was awful. It was like a bad magic show. You listen to some pretty boring history stories that are just bad stories... And I generally like history. The stories have no depth or detail to them. One of them talked about one of the first settlers in Chicago. Another about the great Chicago fire but only a quick... More

I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy the show. Obviously no piece of theatre can please everybody (though I try). And while you felt the stories lacked depth, I've had other guests earlier in the run bemoan that not enough stories were covered. So, through much trial and error, I settled on presenting seven stories at your performance over the course... More

My wife and I visited Chicago for the first time last week and took in the Supernatural Chicago show by Neil Tobin. We weren't sure what to expect but when we arrived at Excalibur, we were surprised by the nightclub. It IS spooky looking! We were led through a maze and ended up in an area on the top floor... More

Joseph, thank you so much for your review. I'm glad you pointed out the atmosphere of the building—it's part of what makes the whole experience so distinctive. It's not every day that you get to hear true stories of Chicago's paranormal history while seated in a landmark building with its own documented haunted past! Also, thank you for your kind... More

I bought 6 tickets for 2 grandparents and 2 parents and did not have high expectations. We brought an 18-year old daughter - who had interest in spooky narratives. I saw the write up on Neil Tobin and it did, I admit, do justice to his performance. Everyone was happy, entertained, and impressed!!! We have not stopped talking about it!... More

If you want an experience, you need to see Neil Tobin perform Supernaural Chicago at Excalibur. It was totally worth the money and the experience was great. The show was interesting, funny and chilling at the same time. I would definietly reccommend it to everyone who is up for a bone chilling experience.

Wow, I was amazed at the stories about parts of Chicago history that I didn't know. It was like the host, Neil the Necromancer, was an actual acquaintance of Al Capone and Resurrection Mary and others. Parts of the show seemed like magic tricks, like, how members of the audience picked parts of a drawing of a "devil baby" face... More
