My mom grew up in Chicago. She always said it was a dirty city. Maybe they have cleaned it up since the 1950's when she last lived there. Lake Michigan near the navy pier was delightful. We walked along the walkway, sad on the beach, enjoyed the sun. Lovely in every way.

looks more like a sea basin rather than lake. Beautiful to walk along the shore and enjoy the views, especially when its not too cloudy

Very big! More of an inland sea than a lake (albeit a freshwater one). It renders Chicago virtually a coastal city.

We took this early lunch cruise leaving from the Navy Pier on May 3 - the perfect day! I made the reservations online a month in advance and paid and extra $40 for window seating not knowing what the weather would be. Though it was a balmy day that was well worth it for the view. The buffet was tasty...

Love lake michigan in Summer. the north shore beach, is perfect for kids its very shallow for along ways out. Lifeguard s on duty do a very good job .

Best time was taking a boat on Lake Michigan for three hours, eating lunch, and the views of one of the greatest cities. Then hit the pier at night. Fun in the sun.
