When we visited Chicago as a school band, we were given admissions to go on the lake and river cruise and we enjoyed it very much. Before we got onto the lake to see the skyline of Chicago, we went through the Chicago River which was very beautiful. We were surrounded by buildings and everything was just gorgeous as we... More

I was a bit sceptical that this tour would hold my interest for the full 75 mins, but I'm happy to say that it did. One of the reasons why was because of our tour guide- Javier. He was absolutely great. Although some of the information that was delivered I had heard before in the city tours; he did it... More

Chose this tour over several others and were not disappointed. Yes we were spoilt by the unseasonably warm weather but the tour was very informative and the guide "excellent", to the extent of being a showman. A great way to see the city at a leisurely pace and to avoid aching feet, whilst enjoying all the great architecture the city... More

I have done this twice because the first time I went to the city I went with my dad on a Sunny May day and it was fabulous. We had bloody marys and sat back and learned about all the architectural history in Chicago, our tour guide was funny and kept your interest. When my boyfriend and I visited the... More

Shoreline Sightseeing offers 75-minute Chicago River tours that focus on the landmarks by world-famous architects, leaving from both the Navy Pier and downtown at Michigan Ave. I loved the tour so much I went back the next day with my husband and a friend. It was even better the second time!! The "docent," Becky was the best sightseeing narrator I've... More

When I am visiting for the first time a new city, I usually use the Hop-on Hop-off bus for a quick view around to decide what I want to do. Because of the availability of the Boat, I dit both. In the case of Chicago, the Shoreline Sightseeing remains the best way to see the most important of the city,... More

Went on the cruise mid-November with our kids aged 12,9 and 7. We were all entertained for the full 75 minutes despite chilly temps. Our tour guide was both informative and funny! I highly recommend it.

This was the best possible thing we could have done on our first full day in Chicago. How lucky to be able to take a boat tour through a city, on rivers that feel like canals, and get you nice and close to the many beautiful buildings of Chicago. While looking at some real stunners from a comfortable chair on... More

This is a 90-minute open boat tour down the Chicago River, with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide offering history, explanation, stories, interesting commentary, and insights. You'll discover things about Chicago's history and its famous architecture and styles that you didn't know, even if you're a native! Several friends have highly recommended this tour, and we were not disappointed. The guide... More
