This walking tour of Chicago was well organized and highly informative. Our guide (Mike) was enthusiastic making the tour very enjoyable even in suboptimal weather conditions. In contrast to other (architectural) tours, this tour also focused on fun historic aspects and many hidden gems in the city were pointed out along the route. The concept of pay what you like... We meet our Tour guide Bruce at the Congress Hotel where we began with the ghost stories of the building. Along the walk through the city we heard tales of serial killers, the prohibition gangs, and overall history of the city. My girlfriend and I had a blast. Bruce was energetic and a great storyteller. One thing to look out... More

We did the tour ending in millennium Park. We wound our way through downtown Chicago Learning about the history and architecture. He also showed us where the Ped walkways were so if it is cold and rainy, you can walk through buildings to get through the city which is especially helpful! Is quite knowledgeable and gave a great tour. Our... More

Mel led the tour, and was energetic and knew a ton about the city. I've been to Chicago multiple times, but never did a proper tour of the city. I saw a ton of the Loop and learned some useful info about the history of the city. Highly recommended tour!

We took both the Gold Coast and Architecture tour with FTBF and LOVED every minute!! The tour guides (Larry and Bruce respectively) were knowledgeable, helpful and fun. We came away with a greater appreciation for Chicago's history and architecture as well as wonderful suggestions for restaurants, other activities and insider tips (they are both Chicago natives). Because it is a... More

If you are up for an informal and relax experience, this tour is for you! I had a great time despite the horrible weather because our tour guide (Mel) was funny, talkative and told us many interesting things. I personally love walkings tours and I have done the free ones in other cities and, so far, they have never dissapointed... More

I just had a great experience this past weekend with Larry through the Gold Coast Neighbourhood and Lincoln Park. I would highly recommend these tours. Larry was a great host, and provided insightful, historic information throughout the tour.
