Chicago Greeter tour gets great reviews on here and for good reason. This is a good way to either see the highlights or explore a "less touristy" neighborhood. I suggest using a Chicago Greeter tour for the latter, you can explore the loop, Millennium Park, Grant Park, etc. easily on your own. I think it pays to pick some particular... More

Really enjoyed the tour given to me and visitors from Morocco last week. Ben is very informative and knows just about everything about the city.

We definitely recommend the Chicago Greeter Tour to anyone visiting Chicago. We were matched with Craig, a very knowledgeable guide who took as all through Wicker park and Ukrainian village, since we were particularly interested in that area. It was a wonderful tour, since Craig knows those neighbourhoods so well and could provide us with all kinds of background knowledge,... More

My grandson and I requested a neighborhood tour of the Pilsen area. We were matched to Sheila and it was a perfect match. She corresponded with us via email two times to ask our interests and to confirm time and meeting place. Very accessible if we had a question prior to the tour. We had a great time, gave us... More

Probably the best walking tour you can get. I would like to express my thanks to Roger Marsh for the insights to the loop and south loop he gave our party. It was a stunning experience getting all this inside info and views from a real local. We took your advice for dinner and that too was great. This is... More

Not sure what I was expecting but what we got was just absolutely amazing. when you walk us around Chicago showed us this, that, and the other thing. All sorts of inside information. Tom was the friendliest guy I ever met. Would do it again in a heartbeat Do not miss this! and it's free to boot.

What a wonderful introduction to the city! Our tour guide, Sue, was fantastic! She planned the tour according to our interests and what we wanted to see. She had such incredible background knowledge and took us to places that most tour guides probably don't even know about. This FREE tour was incredible. I highly recommend!

We loved our Chicago Greeter tour. Larry had emailed us beforehand to find out our interests and we enjoyed everything he showed us. It felt like having a friend show us around, which is always the nicest way to see a new city. Such a wonderful service, can't believe it's free, we could not recommend this more highly as an... Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
