I have seen numerous plays here. The last was THE HERD. What a great play. I am sharing my feelings about the venue. It seems to be the perfect size for a play. They are able to do great things for a smaller stage. It is not the cavernous place like the Oriental which can host massive musicals. This space... More

This was an astonishing piece of theatre, filtering the events that led up through to the French Revolution through a prism of celebrity culture. There are ideas but you aren't banged on the head with them, and if you don't like ambiguity or need things spoonfed you won't like this. The author accomplishes an awful lot with a single line... Marie Antoinette was performed at the upstairs part of the Steppenwolf. This was our first time at this theatre. We loved the theatre and (one of us loved) the production. The theatre was modern and the stage was sort of “in the round” but the two ends of the sort of small, oval shaped stage were open. Modern LED big... More

This show at Steppenwolf was really good. Parked next door under the brown line for 4$ using SpotHero Chicago website. Easy Peasy. Loved the show and the venue. Educational, Historically correct, funny, thought provoking, and interestingly witty. Reading the Playbill helped to understand the context. So I thought the acting was wonderful - appropriately funny and intriguing at the same... More

When I bought my $15 student tickets online, I was familiar with Steppenwolf's reputation. Still, my experience with Airline Highway floored me. The cast, the play, the direction, and the production values were all top-notch. I left the theatre emotional, intelletually awake, and truly moved. A fabulous first experience with Steppenwolf!

Although the theater is a bit out of the way, if you're staying downtown, it's worth the cab fare to see a play there. We saw Airline Highway and enjoyed every moment of it. The play was well-cast and the actors did a superb job. There was no issue hearing every line, despite seats near the middle of the theater... More

I visited the Steppenwolf Theatre for the first time January 18th to see Airline Highway and it was amazing! the theatre was intimate with very comfortable seats and very friendly staff. The actors were all amazing and the show was both funny and emotional. I will definitely go back!

I went to see Airline Highway after in Dec. 2014. The performances from the entire cast were amazing; I cried several times towards the end of the production. The seats are very comfortable. I was seated in row E/seat 7 and had a perfect view of the stage. It is a smaller, more intimate theater, so I think any seat... More

The likes of John Malkevich and Gary Sinese have been "in-house" talent gracing the stage of this always current theater. Performances are adaptations of the old, and mostly very interesting new. Used to be a season ticket holder, but sadly now live in the burbs and gave them up.
