Having grown up in a small coastal town I was surprised to find something so similar to a beach so close to a city. Volleyball courts everywhere are fun if you have some friends to play with!

To be able to swim and sit in the sun for a couple of hours was lovely. We walked from Wabash Ave. through the park, about 20 minutes.

I tried to get to this beach two different days and could not get on it. there was no parking. literally there was no parking lot. there was something that may have went to a lot, although I don't think so, but it was coned off anyway. I circled around a few times, and found no resemblance of a lot.... More

So much fun here with the kids to just hang out. We took family here to and they really had a good time.

Good beach w plenty of soft sand, just be cautious of glass. The chair rentals from B...something Brothers was decent and made the day more enjoyable ($10 per chair for the day). If you are used to warm beaches and temps beware that the water here is very cold, even on the sunniest of days. Don't be deceived, the sun... More

So much fun, free and easy to get to. There is a walking bridge that crosses lake shore drive just southeast of Lincoln Park zoo which is also free. The parking is expensive but a whole day of parking is right about the same as round trip cab fairs from the train stations. The water is not too deep straight... More

Wait in line to get into the bathroom to change, since there were no change rooms and hundreds of teenagers on the beach didn't make for an enjoyable family outing. Lots of broken glass in the sand from beer bottles. Water freezing. We left after an hour.

Wow, did not expect a beach is that energetic. Lots of people whether they are jogging, walking, biking, etc. amenities are good enough at beach. Tips, parking is expensive for 1 to 2 hr, $14. Direction is coming in from west LaSalle drive

Took a nice stroll near the beach before visiting the zoo. Typical of all beaches during a holiday weekend, there were lots of people sunbathing and a few actually in the water. Being accustomed to coastal beaches, we couldn’t imagine one on a lake, but considering, it's not bad - better than no beach. The snack stand and facilities are... More

I know why people go here but it is more just a place on the water that was developed for people near the North Side to go on a summer day. Having been to Salt Water beaches on both coasts, I have to say this one on the Lake Front in the city is not very impressive in that sense.... More
