We got tickets to take our out-of-town family to see Chicago. It was kind of expensive. Plus the drinks were additional once you got on the boat. It was a beautiful summer day and we spent most of the time on the deck looking over the city. The views of the city were by far the best part, especially at... More

We had a dinner cruise sponsored by the conference we have attended. The buffet offered many choices. There was a DJ playing the music. The crew members also did some line-dancing. It was quite entertaining. I wish there were narratives to tell us more about the Chicago skylines.

We drove in to Chicago and arrived around 4. We set up arrangements for the romantic seat by the window with the flowers and champagne. The food was nice, not too fancy, but far from cheap, the service was great, the DJ played something for everyone, and even took requests for our favorite song (voy pa' 'lla por Antony Santos).... Don't get me wrong, the cruise itself was nice: as in the view (if that's what you are going for). The food was horrible. There were only: salad, chicken meatball, some kind of fish, pesto pasta, pork, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and dinner rolls. Then only 4 options for dessert. They need to widen their variety. You literally will go up... More

My husband took me on a brunch cruise Sunday, July 19th for my birthday. It was a beautiful day, so cruising on Lake Michigan was gorgeous. Let's start by reviewing the boat. The bathrooms were horrible. The garbage was overflowing. The sconces in the bathroom were half hanging off the wall. The tables for two were very small. There was... More

Our convention group booked the Spirit of Chicago for a dinner cruise that included a fireworks display with the beautiful skyline in the background. Knowing what I know now, I would have pay the regular booking price for this excursion. The buffet dinner was tasty, and there was a good variety of options (fish, meatballs, veggies, salad, etc.). Desserts were... More

I'm giving this 3.5 stars, but don't feel I can justify rounding up to 4 stars. We went on the lunch cruise when we had family in town right before the 4th of July holiday weekend. It was pretty fun, but I got the feeling it was more a poor-man's version of a Carnival Cruise, versus any type of Chicago... More

The staff could be a little more attentive and announce our special event and offer to bring the drinks up to us on the deck otherwise dinner was perfect and all you can eat.

We took our son along celebrate my wife's birthday. This is a 2-hour tour of the lakefront area with heavy hor d'oeuvres and a cash bar. The food was better than I would have expected. The service was very good; and everyone was quite friendly. The trip was the right length of time. My only "gripe" with the whole event... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
