I went on this cruise for a work event. The views were great and I liked the open bar but that was about it. The food selection was very slim. What they did have was fairly tasty but nothing memorable. The dj played dated music. We went on a Wednesday night for the fireworks. You cant beat the view from... More

We’re not usually fans of New Year’s Eve but as we were visiting Chicago, rather than walking around the cold streets at night, thought we’d book something different. It was reasonably easy to book, figuring out what was included the ‘drinks package’ was a bit difficult but the ‘online advisors’ were helpful. We arrived an hour before departure (the boat... More

Went on an afternoon lunch cruise this past summer. Food and drinks were great. Choice of decks to dine in so you can have quiet, some music, or a bit of funk if you are up for it. We will do this again even though I hate going to the city. Get tickets early. Paying for the window seating is... More

Went on the Spirit of Chicago cruise for lunch to celebrate our 46 th anniversary! Had a great time the food and service was excellent. They put rose petals on our table and offered us champagne! They even announced our anniversary. This cruise was during the Air Show. We were able to see the planes come and go and do... More

This cruise is basically a canned narrative of what you will see on the lake. It leaves from navy pier. We got some amazing pictures and given the time of year it was relatively quiet. If you are looking for a nice water cruise to observe the skyline this is for you. If you want to learn more about Chicago... More

We booked on line a Saturday 3 hour dinner cruise (7 pm - 10 pm). We paid extra for guaranteed window, 4 drink tickets and the romance package (table for 2, half dozen roses and bottle of champagne). Our total was $486.81. We were offered a complimentary glass of champagne when we were seated and a celebration parfait dessert to... More

I took my husband and our two toddlers on a dinner cruise for my husband's birthday. Everything ran smoothly. The staff was friendly, the food was good, and the entertainment was great. Everyone was very professional. We especially enjoyed going to the top deck to view the city as we sailed. During the fireworks show, they ship played music coordinated... More

Labor Day weekend was busy in Chicago, we decided to take my Aunt Lois for a Sunday Brunch aboard the Spirit of Chicago for her 60th B-Day. City was packed and the traffic was jammed. We were in 3 separate vehicles trying to get to the navy pier. I was the first to arrive at the pier and the remaining... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
