The best is to have two grand-daughters aged 7 and 5 and to do a reservation for the lunch and for the dolls. Like babys. You don't buy a toy. You have to adopt a child and your grand-daughter becomes a real Mam! It's incredible to see that kind of shop (I wasn't in Chicago but in "The Falls" half... More

This was our third trip to the American Girl store in Chicago and we had a great time! Is it expensive? Absolutely! But it's worth it. The products are quality and full of imagination. My daughter loves exploring though each display and learning the backgrounds/history of each doll. As parents, we like bringing our daughter here because AG has an... More

Even the modern dad can appreciate the style, class, and sophistication of the American Girl Doll store on Chicago. The dolls, stories, and lessons taught by these American Girls are educational for all. The dolls teach style, health, history, empowerment, and self-confidence. A store experience as American as the American Girl.

We took our girls here recently for lunch and shopping. The girls could have spent the day in American Girl only.... So much to see, experience and buy. Lunch is fun with the dolls sitting in boosters adjacent to your daughter, great service of a 4 course meal. Don't expect great food and you will enjoy this experience. Very accommodating... More

I went here as a 12 year old girl, then went back at age 25. A lot had changed. I do not agree with all the changes the company made, such as discontinuing some of the historical dolls, but the store was still a fun place to browse. Loved seeing the new sets and clothes. And everything is made so... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
