My 9-year-old daughter loves all things American Girl. We’ve been to the AG store in St. Louis many times, but she wanted to visit a larger AG Place store. So as a mother/daughter summer trip, we visited AG Place Chicago. It was a memorable time. There are many hotels near the store that offer AG packages, and that looks like... More

This store has everything you could ever imagine needing for an American Doll and then some! Its two stories, from the front of a block to the back. Its just HUGE!!! There is a salon for your dolls hair, a cafe to eat at and a bakery where you can get snacks for you and your doll. They have hundreds... More

My family of 4 visited this location in July. We have visited 8 other locations, but we really liked all the details at this one. My daughter was very happy with their huge sized displays.

Every year my wife, 5 year old daughter, and I travel to the Chicago suburbs to visit my grandparents. Although we have overexposed my daughter to Disney, we recently bought her a Grace Doll. After learning that there was a store on Michigan Avenue we booked a lunch reservation. What a great experience for everyone. We loved visiting the store... More

Our daughter was jaw dropped the whole time. We wanted to do hair but need to schedule ahead of time. There was a good share of sales which helps. Liked the two floors of choices, will be back again.

This was our daughters' first trip to the store and it did not disappoint! Staff was so helpful, friendly and kind. The store is beautiful and easy to find what you are looking for! Totally exceeded my girls' expectations, and my husband's too!

My 9year old was in heaven. The lunch was surprisingly good-wine and champagne available if I wanted even! The best was the experience-if a girl didn't have a doll you could borrow one! They had fun little Q&A game available while waiting for lunch. So well, organized -I was surprised as I didn't know what to expect! My main goal was... More

I took both my daughters here (7 & 5 yr old) to get them an American Girl Doll. The girls felt like they were in heaven, they loved all the dolls and accessories that go with it. It's great that the dolls have a story that go with them. The dolls and accessories are a little more expensive than other... More

I stopped in to get a gift for my daughter while in town on business. This is an oasis of all things American Girl. We have a beautiful AG store close to my hometown, but it pales in comparison to this two-level experience.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
