Today, my husband and I and my sister and her family went on a 2-hour Mini Tour of Chicago that was fun, fascinating, and informative. We were picked up at our hotel promptly at 9:45 in a spotless black 12-person vehicle by our driver Brandon and our affable and knowledgeable guide Todd. I wondered what we could accomplish in two... If you have any doubts about doing this tour don't think twice, book now! We did it on our first day and loved it. A lot was said about the geography, history, architecture of the city and also interesting facts were shown and explained to us throughout the tour. TJ and Mathew are so nice, helpful and above all, passionate... More

My mother, sister and I chose Chicago as our destination for a long birthday weekend. Two of us were former long time residents of the area but had never explored Chicago as tourists or seen the changes the past 20 years have made. Matt and Brandon gave us an outstanding re-introduction to the city. They tailored the trip to our... More

Todd and TJ exceeded our expectations . They took our ideas and embellished them. The van was comfortably and very easy for seniors to enter and exit. One of the 5 of us lived in the suburbs and was impressed by Todd's knowledge of the city and his ability to inform us for close to 4 hours. I can not... More

We took a last minute private tour for 6 people which we organised early evening for 10am the next day without any hassles. We gave a few suggestions and left the rest to our tour guides Todd and TJ. We had a great and very informative trip. Highly recommended

This is my fourth tour conducted by Chicago Private Tours (CPT). I take the train up from Springfield to Chicago at least once a year bringing along a family member(s) or friend(s) who know little about the great city of Chicago. Thus, I arrange well in advance for a 4-5 hour private tour provided by CPT. I always request Matt... More

Staying in Hyde Park

Neighborhood Profile
Hyde Park
If you want to get a feel for quintessential South Side Chicago, you have to make a stop in Hyde Park, one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods. This historic area is home to two of the city’s most prominent cultural institutions, the Museum of Science and Industry and the University of Chicago. A stroll here will bring you past vintage and grand hotels converted into luxury apartment buildings; peaceful gardens, parks and green spaces; and ivy-adorned museums and other cultural institutions that speak to the city’s diversity and architectural beauty.
