My husband and I did the architecture tour of Chicago with Vicky. She was very interesting, knowledgeable and funny. There is so much that you miss in downtown Chicago if you just walk around the streets and don't enter into the fabulous buildings. Learning about the Pedway was a plus also, I intend to take my map and explore it... More

Great outing for parents to do with their adult children. The tour is extremely well organized and full of historical, little-known facts. The stops for drinks/munchies are perfectly timed. Our guide (Elizabeth) was super knowledgeable and quite funny! Well worth the price of the tickets!

A trio of us came to Chicago for the weekend to spend time together and have fune. The Historic Bar Tour was perfect! We visited a few places we'd probably not have seen on our own, enjoyed beverages, met other interesting people and learned some interesting Chicago History. Our guide, Elizabeth was fantastic. She was entertaining, knowlegable and clearly loves... More

We took the Interior Architectural Tour with Vickie on a recent trip to Chicago. The tour was very good. It started off at the Chase Building, as it started - we were totally sure how it was going to go, easily blamed on a not very animated group. It took off quickly and was very fun, interesting and informational. The... More

We did the Detours "Inside the Loop" interior architecture tour of which over 90% is inside. Even the locals in our group learned a lot from our guide Elizabeth. The tour was well-researched and presented and the iPads full of videos and photos added a lot to our understanding of the history and culture surrounding the buildings that stand today.... More

We planned to travel from Cleveland Ohio and take our three children on this tour . Mother Nature had other plans and a weather storm halted our travel with a 20 plus car pile up on the turnpike .We ended up bunkering down in Mishawaka Indiana Even though their website states that tours can be rescheduled for extreme weather conditions... I have visited Chicago for work and pleasure on numerous occasions. Never before have I felt so close to or so inspired by the city. The tour is dynamic in its educational aspirations and by design encourages you to give as much to the tour as you take away from it. The vintage Ipad videos from various Chicago archives add... Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
