The docents was very knowledgeable and the tour was excellent. If it had been a class I would have been terrified at having to retain all the information that was presented. We really, really enjoyed this and can't recommend it enough.

This was our 2nd tour with the CAF and it didn't disappoint. Our Docent, Joni, was so knowledgeable and offered personal stories from her father and grandfather. Learning about the architecture of the skyscrapers is learning about the history of Chicago. Doing so from the river adds to the experience of your visit to the city. The weather was perfect... More

This was the best thing I did on my two-day trip to Chicago. The cruise lasts about an hour and a half and takes you up and down the river through downtown. The boat ride is very enjoyable and the tour guide was great. It is a unique way to see the city and learn the history of Chicago's most... More

When my husband and I visit Chicago, we always try to do at least one different activity. We had heard so many fantastic reviews about this river cruise, we opted for that this year. We were not disappointed. In fact, this should be the Number 1 tour to take in Chicago. It is amazing!! When we bought our tickets (which... More

My parents and I opted for this tour on a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon in June. We absolutely loved the experience--such a leisurely way to take in the sights while a very informative guide fills you in on all the amazing buildings along the river. Also liked that the boat had a bar, so we were able to enjoy a... More

I did this on the day I arrived, it was a great way to get a feel for the city. The tour guide was great, he pointed out the places where movies had been filmed and had some really interesting facts about the cities buildings and history

I'll never walk the streets of Chicago again without looking up and around. The tour was amazing with the history of Chicago, the buildings and architecture. I really enjoyed this tour. The various styles and designs were fascinating. The tour is a little price for 90 minutes but I thought it was well worth the money especially if you're interested... More

Chicago is justly proud of having saved many of its architectural treasures and created a riverside bike/hike path that covers just about the entire waterfront. The very best way to see and learn about both of these is to take this tour. Yes, it's expensive but it's worth it. It's 90" and the docent talks non-stop and is an unbelievable... More

Undoubtedly the most stunning sights of Chicago's skyline- These would rival NYC or even better it (IMO). The tour guide was quite knowledgeable, and informed all of the history of various buildings - Art Decco vs. Gothic/Gothic Revival (tribune tower) vs. Modern vs. Chicago School. Be it the Chicago Building, the Marina Mart, Chicago Merchandise Mart, the Buckingham Fountain or... More

Very funny, knowledgable tour guide pointed out and detailed most of the great architecture visible along the Chicago River, both the main and north and south branches.
