I don't usually don't shop on vacation, because I live in Los Angeles, and can go to Rodeo Drive anytime. But this is special. So well maintained with beautiful flowers. And even Forever 21 is Forever XXI. Can't beat that. Great shops, all levels and nice people. It's a must when visiting Chicago.

I was very impressed with this Avenue. Very beautiful flowers all along the center of the avenue wide sidewalks easy access for wheelchairs all of the street crossings were so easy to cross. Almost feel like you are in NYC all high end stores. Easy to get tour busses and to get to the boat tours as well. Very clean.... More

We had a great time walking up and down michigan avenue. There is plenty to do. Shopping, eating drinking, people watching. It is clean and safe. Taxis and busses available. Northern part is shopping, southern part is the park.

I would say Michigan Avenue is the heart of Chicago. The key attractions and shops are here. It also include the Mag. Mile. The best place to have a stroll and window shopping :). Great views all around, don't miss..

I have been here several times, as it is a very popular place for tourists. Overpriced food, shopping… don't get me wrong, it is a blast!! Just be prepared to spend some cash and for it to be crowded. Overall fun for an afternoon, great shopping. Be sure to watch your stuff, pick pockets can be a problem, just be... More

Great shopping places along with many restaurants to choose from! High end stores to regular price places as well. Be prepared to WALK though. It's a long street.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
