Beautiful stretch full of shops of different scale. Has discounted outlet type Marshal and TV max and a very nice mall that has Nordstorm. A d plenty of hotels as well. We were staying at the intercontinental right on the avenue. Perfect location.

Took my fiance shopping, had a blast! So much to see and do, and each store is so vast it was an all day occasion!

The weather was a tad cold but we enjoyed the walk to all things "shopping". The best place to visit was Burberry & Coach boutiques. My fav.

I took many photographs but still need to photoshop. I enjoyed the walk down this great iconic avenue. I stopped to shop and taste from the shops along the way. I photographed many things and people too. I look forward to coming back to this great city and I would definitely repeat this walk. It is a must see.

Coming in from Singapore I marveled at the prices on the stores, particularly as the Christmas sales were in full flight. The Water tower place is a great place to shop though I will say... stomp on up Michigan Ave to TJ Max and Marshalls for even better prices and bargains. From high end children stuff American Girl to bargain... More

The lights and shop windows were a wonderfully nice Christmas feeling! It made the cold winter nigh feel like a real winter Christmas even though there was no snow yet :(

The Magnificent Mile never disappoints. City needs cheaper parking prices though. Spent 2 nights downtown and ending spending more that $120.00 on parking alone.

No matter what you are looking for, you will probably find it on Michigan Ave. Hotels, Restaurants, and so much shopping! Don't miss the architecture of these amazing buildings. You are in the heart of the city here.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
