I love Water Tower Place. Not just for the shopping, but for Food Life on the mezzanine level. It is the most amazing "food court" ever. The choices are endless and the food is delicious. If we could have eaten there every day on our last visit to Chicago, we would have!

7 floors of shopping and good selection. Nice walk from downtown and good location with lots of other shopping around. Glass elevator was pretty cool.

Nice mall but not for the budget minded! Enjoyed the leggo store and the Clarks shoe store. Eating at Food life is always fun. We always end up here when we visit Chicago.

Go to the Mezzanine level, the food court is AMAZING! All the stores are easy to enter and finding a good gift for someone back home is very easy.

We only really come here for the Lego Store. Otherwise this is another crowded, and typical Chicago shopping mall.

The Water Tower Place is adjacent to the John Hancock Tower and provides a great opportunity for interior shopping on days that rain falls on Michigan Avenue. The vertical mall contains about 7 floors of restaurants, retail, and a live theater venue. The dining options on the lower level are a nice variety of moderately priced quick service dining options,... More

Got lovely pictures of the old water tower then stopped off in the mall after walking through the city. I recommend the sport bar for food then you get free entry into the sports museum. It's a fun interactive museum.

This Mall has American Girl Place and Lego Store. The only two reasons we visited this mall. Very nice that they were next to each other also! The Food court needed more diversity and more security. The day we were there it was Mass Chaos so we didn't stay as long as we wanted to because of the crowds. American... More

This indoor mall has 7 floors. It has several immaculate stores mostly catered to a luxury branded shopper. The restaurants are on the pricey side. The restrooms are kept clean. Every time I visit I usually walk out with a couple of items. If you really want to enjoy this place my advice is having much cash to spend.

I went specifically for the American Girl store and the Macy's so in that aspect those stores did not disappoint. As for it being a must see shopping destination while in Chicago, not so much. It has average every day stores with above average prices. If you need to kill some time then go but otherwise I would not make... More

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
