Very helpful drivers, we got free day passes from our Chicago greeter and went up and down the Chicago greeter. Much cheaper than paying for one of the boat tours.

The water taxi is a fun and inexpensive way to get from the train station to places such as Michigan Avenue, and Chinatown. It's fast and you go along the river so you get a pleasant view of the buildings along the river while getting quickly around the city.

If you're visiting the museum campus and need to get back to Navy Pier or vice versa, try taking the water taxi. This is by far the best view of the city.

I wish the main pick up areas would have a map of the stops so you have a better idea of where you are and where you want to go. Besides that this was a fun ride down the river to be able to see the beautiful buildings from a different view

In a beautiful city like Chicago, it's a perfect way to unite eficient transportation + amazing view. We used from the Shedd Aquarium to the Navy Pier and it was fast and showed us Chicago from another (beauty and interesting) perspective!

For $8, you can take a boat down the river from the Sears Tower to Navy Pier. From there you can jump on a 40 minute Lake Tour for about $21, or take another taxi to the museums. Great ride.

The Chicago Water Taxi's full route (including Goose Island and Chinatown) takes about 2.5 hours to get through with transfer times. The boats offer great views of the city (and go farther than most architectural cruises, although the Water Taxi boats do not have a guide).
