Have lived in Chicago over 30 years and have never seen the city from that perspective. We had a perfect day catching the Water Taxi off of Michigan Avenue, near Trump Tower, and going to Chinatown. We wanted an adventure and it was terrific. The water taxi made a few interesting stops and then we landed near Chinatown (at the... More

Why not take the Water taxi on your next trip to Chicago! You can get on right by the Ogilvie Train Station and take the Water Taxi to either China Town or to the Michigan Ave. We got to the dock just as the taxi was getting ready to leave and were able to pay the $3.00 per person one... More

Take a rest off your feet and be sure to jump on the water taxi. You will see some great sites on the water - cool off from the humidity of Chicago.

We take the water taxi most times we visit the city after taking the train in from the burbs. It's just a short walk from Ogilvie Train station and is pretty reasonable at $3/person one way. The views along the Chicago River are great and its a much more peaceful ride than along the streets of Chicago in a regular... More

On a nice day, it is a great way to see waterfront buildings. Get a schedule, or note the schedule at the dock to plan your return trip. This is not a tourist boat. So there is no commentary. If you are going to Chinatown from the dock between Trump tower and Wrigley building, you may as well get the... More

I'm torn! I was so looking forward to taking the water taxi to Chinatown with my son and his friends for his first birthday but I didn't have quite such a good experience. First, I checked to make sure strollers were allowed on the boat, their website said yes. When we arrived to the Union Station stop at Madison, there... More

We had a wonderful time on the Chicago Water Taxi. It is a cheap, efficient, and fun way to get around Chicago. We got on the Taxi at the Ogilvie station on the west edge of the river between Washington Blvd and Madison St. It only cost us $10 each to ride all day (a bargain !). We rode down... More

In town for three Phish shows this summer and staying in the Streeterville area, we took the water taxi to the shows at Northerly Isle each day. It was about $8 per person and took about 15 minutes to get from the Navy Pier to the Shedd Aquarium. Since the weather was perfect (70s, sunny), this was a great ride... More

Visit Navy Pier, downtown, and China Town via the water. Reasonably priced. We took a water taxi from downtown to Navy Pier and back. It's probably faster to go by bus, but hey, you're in Chicago, on the Chicago River, and your a tourist - so why not? Kids thought it was especially cool.
