The ferris wheel ride is a must do for all ages. The view of the city is breathtaking. Our family has had the pleasure of enjoying the view during the day and night and both are fabulous. I have a fear of heights when in the open air but this doesn't bother me because the cars are enclosed giving me... More

Our little boy loved the Thomas train ride, and cried to stay at the childrens museum. A bit ho-hum for parents though.

If you are traveling to downtown Chicago, make time to go visit Navy Pier. Its fun for the whole family, with restaurants, cruises, gardens, the giant ferris wheel, concerts... the list goes on and on! The Chicago Children's Muesum is right next to the pier, and that is a great addition to the visit, especially with young children! Navy Pier... More

Had a great time walking through the mall area and a great time on the Ferris wheel, although I am afraid of heights, I still had fun.

Nice place to visit to be outdoors. Great views of lake and cityscape. Relaxing. Only down side was cost of parking.

There is lots to do, especially if you have children. The IMAX theater was great and even the ferris wheel provided a great view of Chicago.

We enjoyed walking down the pier and relaxing outside. It was a fall Thursday, so it was very very quiet. It was nice to go inside for ice cream and drinks when we were ready. Enjoyed the views and relaxing outdoors.

I felt like it was really overcrowded and kind of a tourist trap. I loved visiting Chicago but this was probably the least favorite thing we did.

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
