FUN diverse activity choices. A walk to THE END of the pier is worth the exercise -- the view is breathtaking. Take the kids to the Children's Museum. When summer pops, take a boat ride on the lake to take pics of the awesome Chicago skyline. MANY restaurants for snacks, casual, & fine dining, too! Try Bill Curtis' meatloaf with... More

Family in town took taxi to Navy Pier for evening. Fun walk around but by the end of our day we wanted to get back to the hotel. Ferris wheel was fun to see. Lots of restaurants to choose from.

This is a historic Chicago building which makes it worth seeing for that alone. There are rides there including a ferris wheel where you can have nice views of the city. There are some shops where you can get Chicago souvenirs and other items. There is also a Garrett's popcorn here. They have an IMAX theater and a Shakespeare Theater... More

There is a great deal of construction work going on at the pier so I didn't see it at its best. According to the posters this is going to be a real attraction when the work is completed.

The Pier a place for all ages. It's has tons of wonder restaurants and shops. During the summer months taking a boat tour on Lake Michigan is my favorite. They have fireworks on Wedensday and Saturday nights which are beautiful. They also have a children's museum that's fun for the little ones.

Some nice free views and some overpriced shopping and dining. Nice place to walk around and just see the sites, great little lighthouse towards the end of pier.

Very glad we went. It was a windy day about 55 degrees but felt like 30. The kids were cold but rode the ferris wheel anyway. It seems mostly about shopping, eating and drinking. The atrium was closed for a private event and that was a bummer. If we had more time we probably would have grabbed a river ride... More

My husband and I spent an evening up the pier. We walked the length of the pier, although the end is under a lot of construction. It will be a lot nicer in the summer once they've finished. We bought tickets for the Ferris wheel and crazy golf (2 for 1 offers available) which was fun. The front of the... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
