If you are interested in Mexican arts, particularly about Mexican experiences in the U.S. then go see the displays. I love it! It's free and easy to get to. Take the metro Pink line to 18th street station. The Museum is a few blocks away on 19th street. It is closed on Mondays.

I liked it a lot, great paint and spectacular item of the "dias de los muertos". Don't miss it, it's a piece of this city's story

This museum is an underappreciated attraction in Chicago. The art is Hispanic in culture, diverse and outstanding. Imagine a large art work composed of tiny beads or an image that looks like a painting composed of bird feathers! Great way to spend a couple hours and located near Nuevo Leon, a landmark Mexican Restaurant on 18th street. Art and lunch....what... More

The National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago is the largest museum of Mexican art in the country. There are three galleries within the museum and a gift shop. In the one gallery there was an exhibit called "Sin Fronteras" which was an amazing collection from one collector. The gift shop Tzintzuntzan was quite nice too. If you love Mexican... More

Off the beaten path. I would plan to spend 1-1 1/2 hours there. The staff is really friendly and the art is so unique.

I travelled to 16 cities around the US on my trip and visited many art galleries and museums and this was one of my favourites. I am SO glad I decided to take a day trip to Pilsen and this museum. I enjoyed Pilsen so much that I had to spend another day wandering around there before I left Chicago.... More

One of the best museums I've been to. Powerful art that is incredibly well curated. This is a quiet gem in the Pilsen area that is always a memorable experience for me when I visit.

My daughter and I visited the museum during our recent trip to Chicago. First class exhibits! Really enjoyed the Galleria Sin Fronteras exhibit, an outstanding social and political feature- Appreciated the richness of exploration of Mexican history. Took a cab there mostly because we had no idea where we were going but found subway easily accessible to get back into... More

I can not believe that I grew up in this city and did not see this before. I am definitley coming back again, at least for the amazing pieces in the gift shop.

If you make the effort to visit this Museum, your effort will certainly be rewarded. You will need to set aside at least two hours or you may be disappointed because you were unable to see it all. If you are an Artist or Art Lover, you are going to love this place. You will be able to view a... More
