This iconic building stands out visually in the lower Michigan Avenue next to the river. You can see this building from many places in Chicago. We took photos during a daytime River cruise as well as on our walks. But on Easter Sunday we noticed the top of the building at night was lighted with pink and yellow lights. It... More

This building sits down on the Chicago River and can be seen from many points on the river it is very beautiful and seems to draw a lot of foot traffic so it makes it a great place to people watch.

Although they have long been dwarfed by other buildings in terms of height, the two towers of the Wrigley Building still manage to dominate Chicago's skyline, especially when lit up at night. To be admired close up and also from a distance.

The Wrigley Building IS a Chicago icon, however, one thing visitors to the city may not realize is the icon also houses a Walgreens. So, if you forgot something or need a quick snack, you will find it here. In addition, the walkway through the building's "bridge" is a great place to watch boats on the river.

Take time to check out this iconic building. Tour bus guides will also give you the history of the building. Even prettier by night.

The Wrigley Building is a major Chicago icon. Yes, they are the same family (company) that owns the chewing gum that we all love and grew up with. The land for the building, chosen by William Wrigley Jr., is unique because of its triangular shape. Mr. Wrigley's goal was to create an impressive headquarters for his successful chewing gum company... More

This is one of the most prettiest building in Chicago. I didn't get the pleasure of going into the building but it is a must see so don't pass it up. The details on the building are gorgeous.

The Wrigley building is iconic and I hope it keeps it's name, unlike other buildings in Chicago. It is right along the Chicago River and starting North Michigan and the Magnificent Mile. If you doing any sight-seeing, it will be hard to not walk past it but many people don't take the time to look up at the beautiful buildings... More

The building has been under renovation for a while but it still looks great in the chicago skyline. I particularly like the bridge that connects the two buildings that constitute the wrigley. This is the first stop after crossing the michigan ave bridge from the south. Then onwards to michigan ave north where shopping begins!

This is one of the iconic images of Chicago. If you are anywhere in the area, it would be well worth a little detour to see this lovely building, majestically towering over the Chicago River, reminiscent of times past.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
