I visited with my sisters and Mom for a big milestone birthday. We arrived just past 10:30 on a Friday evening. The draft was in town so it wasn't too busy. We were able to get a table. The server took our drink order. The prices weren't bad at all. The music was great. Plenty of room for dancing. The... More

The food is good, the prices are reasonable, the service is good, but to be honest it's all about the music and the atmosphere!! Don't leave Chicago without visiting Legends!!

This club is is open all day and is so popular that it is nearly always packed by 9 pm but is is well worth a visit or three. The food is typical southern (catfish po-boys etc.) and reasonably priced. The beer is also good value for money. If you are lucky enough to be in town on a Monday... More

Came here for a 10:30 show by Booker T, we walked up and, wait a minute, it switched buildings! I had been to the old place 4 times and didn't know they moved. The pros, better size, feels about twice as big. Access to bars and restrooms improved. The downside; less character, feels more commercialized. Overall an improvement (the bar... More

Took my sweetie to Buddy Guy's for the 1st time (my 2nd visit) and MAN did they fix the place up!!! It was BB King tribute night, and Mississippi John Primer was just on fire tonight! Great place, great show, and Buddy has his own beer now! Sorry; took the empty bottle home to keep forever! Now on with Bluesfest... More

Having just returned from what was billed, by WXRT as a 2015 Blues Fest preview, it has been most disappointing. While my 11-yr-old & I first entered (approx. @ 4PM) & having had dinner, we were told, upon arrival that after 8 PM my son would not be allowed due to age restrictions. We agreed; however, "Johnny" (Buddy Guys' youngest... More

My second trip to Chicago and my second trip to Buddy Guy’s. The main reason to go is obviously the music which is very good, the food and beer was also of a very high standard as was the service. The only thing that stops it getting a full five rating is the irritating man that seems to think he... More

We stopped in here to get an early dinner and catch the 5:30 acoustic set. Very enjoyable, a good atmosphere even early in the evening. The food was fine, I enjoyed the Catfish. I hope to visit again sometime to catch the main show.

Went last night only to see the artist I had seen on Sunday in blue Chicago with a different wig, outfit but the same jokes. It's too comercial and the waitress we had was so rude when we gave her loads of change for our drinks they expect to be tipped for going to the bar yourself, all they were... More

We had a great evening listening to Jimmy Johnson playing acoustic guitar and singing. Were staying at the Blackstone hotel in Chicago, and Buddy Guy's is just a block away. We arrived just as the set began on a Thursday night and were told it was "standing room only" but it was fine - we found a spot next to... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
