The 3,600 seat auditorium is seven stories high, and the vertical "C-H-I-C-A-G-O," sign is one of the few such signs in existence today. A symbol of State Street and Chicago, the marquee is a landmark in itself, as is the Wurlitzer pipe organ.Patrons can also go behind-the-scenes on their educational venue tour, which runs a few times a week. « less

Often, great acts perform here. Used to be a movie theater. Was totally refurbished and is architecturally beautiful. Worthwhile for an on-stage performance if your trip is scheduled when a favorite artist is in town. More

It is such a historic building! It is beautiful! It is also a wonderful place to see a show! The sound is good and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. More

If you ever have the chance, see a show here. I seen Kathy Griffin and wow - beautiful acoustics and just an amazing environment. I couldn't help but to snap a few pictures for myself - truly an amazing part of Chicago history. More

If you have a chance to see a show at The Chicago Theatre, do not pass it up. The theater is a fabulous old jewel with architectural features you just don't see anymore. The drinks are a tad pricey, but aren't they always at a venue? That said, there are multiple bars, and waitressess for the Mezzanine. Speaking of the... More

There really isn't a bad seat in the house. This was designed as a movie theater, so even if the guy in front of you has a big head, you will be able to see your concert. And the accustics are great! The history in this place makes seeinig a show here that much more enjoyable. If you can, see... More

The Chicago Theater is absolutely beautiful and if you have a chance to see a show there, I highly recommend it. The architecture and decor is breathtaking. We saw Straight, No Chaser there; seeing the inside of the theater was as great as the show. More

The building is a magnificent piece of construction that is breathtaking. We went for the final performance of "The Christmas Story" and enjoyed every minute of it. The theater is small enough that every seat is a great view and they book some terrific entertainment year round. More

This is an absolutely beautiful theatre. It's spacious and old-feeling, which is good since most of their acts cater to a more... nostalgic crowd. A Christmas Story: The Musical (appropriately) is playing there right now, and it's an ok show... But the theatre has these 4-person booths that you can sit in and grab some snacks and drinks (which are... More
