Last visit to this zoo revealed a lot of transition with lots of exhibits closed or under renovation. In general, it is a first-rate zoo but not quite up to the level of St. Louis or San Diego. more

Yes, general admission is reasonable, but when you visit w/3 youngsters who want entry to special exhibits, it can quickly add up. For us, it seemed more practical to just purchase a family membership to get discounts on these exhibits. I wld never recommend visiting over Labor Day weekend as we did!
