Stanley Idaho has never become a posh paradise because of the weather. Often times it boasts the lowest winter temperatures in the continental US, and is often closed off from civilization due to winter weather and storms. These are the very things that make Stanley such a treasure. Redfish lake is one of the most beautiful attractions in Idaho. Named... More

When I was 5 we first went to Stanley, Redfish Lake and the Sawtooth National Forest. Since then I have gone there for vacations at least 2-5 times a year in all seasons. I have 3 special places I fish and it is not unusual to catch a limit of trout in 15 minutes. It is also not unusual to... More

This is a really lovely area, and a great base for recreating, or just hanging out for a day, or a week. The water is an amazing colour, and the shallow shelf along the 'beach' makes it warmer. I haven't stayed in the lodge/cabins, but have camped at nearby Little Redfish Lake. Very nice spot as well. The Lodge is... More

Definitely worth a day trip from Boise, this is the culmination of a beautiful drive up through Stanley. You have a choice of the entire spectrum of outdoor activities, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, camping, canoeing, etc. A beautiful area.

Redfish Lake is a beautiful spot and well worth a visit if you are in Stanley. I spent my afternoon SUPing on the beautifully still water.

We drove up from Sun Valley to walk around the lake. It is nestled in the mountains has a lovely beach area with pebbles and lots of wood. The water is clear and beautiful. It is a lovely setting. We then had lunch at the lodge it is very casual but a great side trip

This review is about Little Redfish Lake. Redfish Lake is the main attrition in Stanley. I like Little Redfish Lake much better. I always camp at Chinook Bay. Great view & real close to the water.

There are special places on this earth that people experience that are breathtaking. The Redfish Lake area is one of those places. The lake and surrounding mountains are very special. Even the roads to and from the Redfish area are a ride everyone should experience.

Redfish Lake is definitely a once in a life time trip to take with all the hiking trails in the area, the crystal clear lake, and lots more. The Sawtooth Fish Hatchery is just down the road and there's an airport in town. I highly recommend travelers to Idaho to stop by there and see elk roaming.

The hotel at Redfish Lake is a great place to sit and relax as you take i n the awesome views of the Sawtooth Mt. Great outdoor bar and snack stand as well with a good choice of local crafted beers.
