Guides are very nice, patient and encouraging. I did not feel pressured even though I am very slow and fall a lot. Conditions were excellent; not under the company's control, I know, but they enabled us to take full advantage of them.

Friday Feb 5th was my third time there and I have always had great skiing. Great terrain, uncut powder and no lift lines. Plus the lunches are getting better.

We had another 'best day ever' with the team up at Selkirk over the MLK holiday weekend! The day began with the anticipation of fresh cold leftovers from a storm that had dumped just shy of 2 feet on the area that week. We started our big day with a debrief on safety procedures, transceiver instructions and a meeting with... More

After skiing with Selkirk Powder Company a few times I knew I had to get some of my ski buddies involved. I called a few that were avid skiers and we made a plan. We had everything, Fat Skis, Over-sized Poles, Boot Warmers, Hand Warmers, Energy Drinks, a Good Ol' SRL Camera and the Desire to Shred. The only thing... More

When the snow is good this back country experience is awesome. We have been knee deep in fresh powder on a good day. If the snow is not great a snowmobile tour is the next best way to experience the back country of the Selkirk Mountains.

I had never been on a snowmobile before, so I went into our day with a bit of apprehension. Strapping on the helmet and getting on board the massive machine didn't help ... until we got going. Our guide was FANTASTIC! I felt competent within a short time on the trail (thanks to the great coaching and patient pace). I... More

Went for two trips on Friday. It was one of the best adventures I have ever been on. Ken did a great job of telling us what we needed to know about the equipment and then giving us some time to get used to it then letting us have some fun . A stunning area and some spectacular views. Highly... More

Selkirk Powder Company is up there as one of the best cat skiing outfits in the USA. If you’re trying to decide on your next ski vacation destination in the US, I’d head to Schweitzer just so that you can go cat skiing! Like other USA cat skiing operations, it’s not in the same league as most of the Canada... More

Right on!! Consider the source here folks, this is Greg Doyle from POWDERHOUNDS.com, "The knowledge base of ALL THINGS SKIING!" from down-under. Greg and Lyndel came and visited in January 2013 and we had a great time skiing with these two enthusiastic seekers of fresh powder and great skiing. Our trip to Schweitzer was our best skiing this season. The snow around Tahoe and Colorado was disappointing so the 13 of us went to Idaho and had a great time. The day we spent skiing with the Selkirk Powder group was the best day of our best week of skiing this year! Our guide was professional and entertaining. The... More

People always go nuts about powder skiing, and I never understood why. I’ve had some powder experience in Niseko Japan. It’s nice but not something to go cultish over. After several years of being a caterpillar ski fanatic, my dad finally persuaded me to give it a try. 24-hour door-to-door commute later (from Hong Kong all the way to Sandpoint... More
