On every trip, we strive to exceed our reputation for superior customer service, careful attention to detail, and a crew of exceptional guides. The reputation we hold so dear matches the high reputations of the three rivers we run. We only run designated "Wild and Scenic" rivers which means that no matter which trip you choose, whether it's the Middle Fork of the Salmon, Main Salmon or Rogue River, it is guaranteed that you will be floating down one of the most spectacular rivers in the world. « less

I have been on many raft trips with friends who are ex-river guides, but this was my first time on a guided commercial raft trip. Mary and company are the most cheerful, professional, and generally outstanding folks I have ever met. The equipment was in perfect condition. The food was literally gourmet. The guides were competent and at the same... More

This fly fishing and river rafting with Idaho River Journeys was wonderful! They provide gourmet food, great guides, plenty of room to fish, enjoy the rapids and take pictures with 2 people per raft with guide. Middle Fork of the Salmon River is pristine wilderness. It is a treasure. You fly into a landing strip along the river where the... More

This was the second trip that I have taken with IRJ on the Middle Fork in Idaho. The crew is so fantastic. They prepare delicious fresh food for each meal, and do all of the hard work for you including setting up the entire campsite before we arrived every day. Safety is definitely a top priority, but the guides also... More

Wow what a trip! My husband, myself and our two sons in their early 20s just got home two days ago from spending a week on the Middle Fork of the Salmon w/ Idaho River Journeys. Our entire experience w/ IRJ was great, from the initial inquiries to the saying of good-byes. My husband loves to fish but isn't big... More

I am counting down the days until my second trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon with Idaho River Journeys this August. I first went two years ago had a great time and now am bringing along several friends. What I am really looking forward to is the total sense of relaxation that I found from my last trip.... More

From the first inquiry phone call to the extra help getting out of Salmon after our trip was over - as they were really no longer obligated to us at that point - IRJ was friendly, professional, fun and accomodating. What stands out about this company is that it is a family run business with Bob and Mary at the... More

I recently took a 6 day trip down the Middle Fork with my 14 year old daughter. It was our first adventure trip and it was truly the vacation of a lifetime. Planning was easy with the help of the knowledgeable and friendly reservations staff. The equipment was all top notch and all of the river guides were competent, super... More

I have taken three trips with Idaho River Journeys and have thought about writing a review about this terrific company for some time, so here goes. This past summer my husband and I rafted the Middle Fork for the second time with Idaho River Journeys. Our first trip several years back was with them on the Main Salmon. They are... More

I have had the pleasure of going with Idaho River Journeys on the Middle Fork of the Salmon for my family rafting trips twice in the past three years. My family and I have always had an excellent time and love their guides. If you call them, you will talk directly with owners Mary and Bob and they will help... More

We booked a trip with Idaho River Journeys, gave them a deposit, booked our airfare, made arrangements for before and after our rafting trip and then made the mistake of questioning the wording in the Risk Form that Idaho River Journeys asks participants to sign. We questioned signing a form which gave all of our rights away, no matter whose... More

Adventure travel providers commonly require participants to sign Acknowledgment of Risk forms. In this case, the guest refused to sign the form even though he was well aware of the requirement. The form has two purposes. First it alerts the guest to possible dangers; and second it provides some protection to the outfitter in the event of an accident. Forms... More
