"Old Town" was the historic center of Pocatello probably because of the city's railroad connections. Today it houses antique stores, a variety of places to eat including Thai, Greek, Italian and Chinese and other shops. The used book store is particularly good and if you are into firearms, the new "Gunslinger" store is worth visiting. Good inventory, knowledgeable people and... More

We walked through the old town district and it was a lot of fun especially during the art walk. They had local artist that were showing their artwork. The locals seem to really like it.

Some days there is so much life in this old town area. Others not so much. With it being summer check out farmers market saturdays (8-1) and Revive at 5 on Wednesday. (5p-8) there is a free band. Abeer gargen, vendors and food. . Don't forget the art walk the 1st friday of each month.

I lived here 50 years ago when "Downtown" was the heart of Pocatello... the mall in Chubbuck flat out killed it and left the classic historic buildings in this railroad town abandoned (not a slum, just bare) There are a core of people who are working very hard to bring this area back to life. Flowering trees in the spring,... More

I like to envision what this old town once looked like and dream of what it might become. For the time being it is in limbo and in desperate need of an injection of creativity and customers! If people who live here want to see it grow they need to make the extra effort to get the things they can... More

It is a run down shady area. You feel like you need to watch your back in this part of town. Stick to the east side or Chubbuck.

Their Old Town area is right on the brink if being revitalized. Worth a walk, really nice merchants, and great potential.

There has been some attempt to revive the old centre and it is intersting to see old buildings and adverts painted on the walls but we visited it at 10.30 in the morning and nothing was open although the shops looked interesting and off beat.
