We went for the 3.5 kilometre walk around the Lake Monger last Sunday evening. It's a great place for all the family to enjoy. The paths are set up for walking, jogging, cycling et cetera, and they are well used. There are large expanses of lawn, as well as picnic areas and barbeques. We had the added joy of seeing... More

A breath of fresh air on the door step of Perth. Great place to exercise, walk, see the wildlife including majestic black swans and the turtles. The Japanese love seeing the black swans.

BBQs, playgrounds, massive areas of green grass, all so close to the city. Great place for any event or to get some exercise or quiet. I used to spend every Saturday morning training with mates on the grass near the Dodd St carpark, with the sound of the nearby birds in the background, and a cool breeze blowing over the... More

If you want to see black swans, have a nice walk around a lake and a park with shady spots then you can do worse than come here. The freeway goes down one side of it though, which is a shame.

Lake Monger provides a nice running track with a view of the lake, spots of shade, a couple water fountains, a handful of mediocre fitness stations, bathroom facilities, and heaps of different birds and ducks. At a distance of 3.3km it is perfect for the novice runner, but a bit lacking in varied terrain for someone looking for more of... More

I had never seen a black swan before and here there were hundreds. A large group came over as soon as we arrived obviously hoping to be fed. the notices said not to so we didn't. This tranquil lake is home to many ducks, geese, and what appeared to be gulls. Well worth a visit but we were warned to... More

This is the place that you should go if you want to see the black swans in Perth. A spot for stroll and jog. Note that during summer, all the flies will be out - swatting is common sight. The birds are well fed by the lake (fishes), so only if you want to feed them, you can bring some... More
