This is the beach to visit on Bequia. The beach bars offer cold drinks and good food, and the water is usually calm and pristine. It isn't at all crowded, unless you go on a holiday like Easter weekend. The little reef creates a little pool that is great for babies and toddlers to splash about. This is a beach... More

Very few tourists apart from weekends and plenty of places to get a snack or meal. Good snorkelling. Even a manta ray stayed around for a few days this year.

Dotted with beach bars and restaurants, one is never too far from something to eat. Evening entertainment is available on BBQ nights. Of couse the water is great.

If you're visiting Bequia then Lower Bay beach is a must. It's quiet, unspoilt and probably the best beach on Bequia. You might be asked to pay $EC15 for a sun lounger but the views and beach are well woth it.

Far preferable to the over-hyped and over-busy Princess Margaret Beach next door, Lower Bay is quiet and comfortable, with several inexpensive beach cafes behind it. There is shade under trees when you need it, the sand is golden and the swimming is good, with snorkelling at either end. You can walk there from Port Elizabeth along the Belmont shoreline to... A nice long uncluttered beach that is very inviting to swim in. It is on the lower western side of the island.

Lower bay is a very quiet long golden beach. The main bar "De Reef' serves all the things you could possibly want. Delicious fresh food ! Very easy to get there by water taxi if your in the harbour otherwise local taxis. Very enjoyable to stay there all day.

We only made our way to Lower Bay a few times and every time it was extremely windy. The beach had quite a slope to it which made it a little difficult to lay on without renting a chair. Spent a fun Sunday afternoon at DeReef however enjoying lunch and a few beverages.
