Beautiful and fun...when it is the heat of summer and early fall. Better yet, explore the Wallowa area and camp at Wallowa Lake. Impressive sculptures in Joseph, Washington...worth a trip.

Traveling through the canyons was spectacular. The views of the canyon walls with the river flowing along was definitely worth the trip. I would suggest the drive if you have time.

We took ROW Adventure's 5-day Salmon River Canyons Family Magic trip with our two adult kids and three grandkids. Fantastic rapids, not too scary for even little kids--youngest on our trip was 5--yet still exciting for the adults. Imagine pulling onto a white sand beach after a day on the water, to find chairs, an umbrella for shade, and a... More

OARS and the guides did a great job for our family. 5 days and 4 nights. Kids had a great time, food was excellent, and rapids were perfect for our kids (Class II and III's). Water was a bit washed out so fishing was not great.

Truly, the people at ROW have this trip down. First, you can't even sign up for "Family Magic" trip unless you are bringing a kid or two (or more!) This means, fellow parents, that you don't have to stress about your darling child being a distraction or too loud or too... childish. Everyone there has a kid! The ROW team... More

Plan on having lunch at an excellent little (the only one) German restaurant in Asotin. They close mid afternoon so plan on that. Food was authentic and outstanding. Ok, the drive is easy and pretty. Well worth it.

In July 2012 I stumbled upon a review of RowAdventures in National Geographic Traveler magazine. Whitewater Rafting was on my :bucket list" and this seemed to meet my criteria. My daughter (35) and I (62) chose the five day Salmon River experience. To say we were impressed would be a gross understatement! What a marvelous experience. There were ten of... More

We rafted the Grand Canyon last year and this year chose to raft the Lower Salmon. This was a family trip with an 11 year old. To compare, the Grand Canyon was muddy cold water, blazing hot temps, and rocky outcrops to camp on. We truly enjoyed the scenery and geologic features of the GC but had a terrible guide... More

We honestly stumbled upon ROW's programs while looking around for a shorter whitewater trip out west. When we found the "Family Magic" trip that ROW offers down the Lower Salmon River, we jumped at it, and we are so glad that we did! ROW did a masterful job of matching our kids with other families of the same ages, and... More
