Surrounded by beautiful forests of Ponderosa pine and wildlife, Pend Oreille is the largest lake in Idaho. We were there last August when it was was pretty hot and the lake is visited by locals and visitors. You can enjoy sailing, jetskiing, paddle boards, waterboarding/skiing. If you are not into sports, you can just lazily lay on the lake's sandy... More

Scenic, large, warm lake. This lake, with over 400KM of shoreline. is a great destination. We came as a group and spent many days playing in the water. The lake is big enough that we never felt crowded by other boats. As a group we like to ski as opposed to wake board. Skiing on the lake can be tricky.... More

This is the biggest lake, along with Flathead, in the Idaho/Montana Panhandle area. It's location in the heart of the mountains and scenic beauty are simply awesome. Unlike Flathead, Pend Oreille lake is thousands of feet deep, so the fishing scene is quite different. There are several good marinas on the lake. The best place to view the lake is... More

Came to Lake Pend Oreille with the family as part of a family vacation to Athol. We were spending most of our time at Silverwood, but decided one day to take it easy and just spend some time outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather. We decided to spend the day at Lake Pend Oreille for a picnic and swimming in the... More

One of the largest and deepest lakes in USA. It has everything for outdoor enthusiasts or those that want to kick back and enjoy a small or no town environment. We have skied here and just enjoyed a great summer week on the lake. There is hiking, biking, boating, and a great amusement park nearby. It has much to do... More

It is a wonderful place to see. It is huge and has lots of places to check out. The water walks, wild life can be found. Hard to see the mountains due the amount of smoke in the air due to fires in the west.

I'm speechless! That's how beautiful this lake is. Absolutely huge. Lots of moored boats. Sandpoint is the largest shoreline city which offers beaches, restaurants, lake view restaurants, lake cruises, and parks. And only about 60 miles from Canada, and and hour and a half drive from Spokane Valley, WA.

Stayed there an entire week, and we had a fishing charter. Lake is 43 miles long, 6 miles wide, and over 1000 feet deep in the center. Loved the scenery, water & mountains everywhere, clear, blue, peaceful. Stayed in Hope. Sandpoint is right on the lake also.

Sandpoint lies on the shores of Idaho's largest lake, 43-mile-long Lake Pend Oreille, and is surrounded by three major mountain ranges, the Selkirk, Cabinet and Bitterroot ranges. Unfortunately this town needs more tourists, as it's largest employer, Coldwater Creek, is out of business.
