The old Playland Pier site for those who remember that era. Nice place to view the lake. Park your car and walk to the nearby City Park. Walk the world's longest floating boardwalk and get a close up view of the sparkling waters and boats. More

Independence Point is along Lake Coeur d'Alene and offers hiking trails which are not typically found within a community. The trails are not paved, but, I myself, prefer those type. There are scenic areas of the lake which are breathtaking. More

Coeur d'Alene City Park is a must see/play when in Coeur d'Alene. A lush 17 acres that includes a beach (lifeguards in season), kids play area (Ft. Sherman Playground), a bandshell (Sunday concerts in summer), large basketball court (always a pick-up game going) and picnic tables and shelter. Independence Point (once a small version of Coney Island) is one of... More

In high summer, this is the most popular swimming beach and park venue in town--and I do mean popular. However, it's large and very clean. A treed park next to two small university campuses, it has a campusy vibe. Lots of music, events. Lots of beautiful young people showing off bods. Lots of restaurants and the CDA Resort next door.... Back then the dock had a runned down amusement park, the hotel wasn't blocking the view, the rich didn't drink on their boat in front of the swimming kids, most had manners to get hammered under the cover a a brown bag. Talking about brown bags, where did they go? More
