Independence Point is along Lake Coeur d'Alene and offers hiking trails which are not typically found within a community. The trails are not paved, but, I myself, prefer those type. There are scenic areas of the lake which are breathtaking.

Has a simlar feel to the boardwalk areas in southern California. Lots of area to walk and skate, food venders and many places to sit and enjoy.

In high summer, this is the most popular swimming beach and park venue in town--and I do mean popular. However, it's large and very clean. A treed park next to two small university campuses, it has a campusy vibe. Lots of music, events. Lots of beautiful young people showing off bods. Lots of restaurants and the CDA Resort next door....

Back then the dock had a runned down amusement park, the hotel wasn't blocking the view, the rich didn't drink on their boat in front of the swimming kids, most had manners to get hammered under the cover a a brown bag. Talking about brown bags, where did they go?
