Visiting Boise, I saw a presentation (I'll Push you) at the Egyptian Theater and what a spectacular building. The exterior detail was exquisite, very art deco, well maintained and eye-catching. The interior was immaculate and luxurious, red velvet everywhere, chairs so soft you wanted to sleep in them and the stage is set so there is no bad seat in... More

A beautiful theater. It is great to see that it has been restores/maintained. The architecture is so different from any other theater I've ever seen. Seat are comfortable. A great place to attend a performance.

We attended a screening of a documentary film, "Bravo." The theatre had a nice lobby with refreshments. The seats in the balcony were comfortable with sufficient rise to allow full view of the screen from the center aisle and one off center. The decorations are very interesting. It is quite unique.

Sat in the orchestra seating area, which offers comfortable seats, but they are all on the same level. We had no trouble seeing the stage and the performer. Each seat has a built-in drink/cup holder, which I began to be an annoyance toward the end of the evening because my forearm rested on it partially. The sound and lighting for... More

The Egyptian Theater offers live theater in a gorgeous setting. The house is small enough to surround you with and intimate theater experience. Choices vary so keep an eye out of offerings.

I can imagine the Egyptian being the coolest place in town in its heyday. It's unquestionably the oddest theatre that you'd expect to find in Boise, ID, but definitely the coolest. Is it the nicest one? No. But its decor is a throwback to when going to the movies was cool and something to get dolled up for. Movies are... More

Another fun evening enjoying a Boise downtown classic experience. Whether it's for a film festival or classic movie night, the Egyptian delivers. For some reason the crowd's always great!

The sphinxes of gold at curtain-side set a unique stage where operas, lectures, movies and other performances all can assume a comfortable ambience. This perfectly renovated 1930s space moves into the Twenty-first Century with historical significance as well as beauty to match any stage in the world, yet one feels as if she/he is near and involved with whatever is...
