Not being much of a downhill skier, it is great to have a place in Boise for xc skiing. The trails were well maintained and clearly marked for rate of ease and/or difficulty. Not to mention it is absolutely beautiful up there! Try to go on a clear day and you will be able to see for miles!

I've been to couple ski resorts, in Canada, Utah, and Korea. The worst, for some reason it just seems so boring, some ski hill's condition was so bad like the moguls was a dump site, and importantly the price for the lift tickets are expensive as hell esp. for such crappy ski resort. Also, as one of the reviewer mentioned,... More

In winter, Good snow and wonderful slopes. Some chair lift is a little old fashion, but more comfortable. And so great Bogus people & friends at Pioneer Lodge and main lodge. Usually I enjoyed snack after night skiing with good friends.. I also stayed Shaffer Butte (summit camping ground of Bogus) in summer (July) and so cool & wonderful camping,... More

It was an one in a life experience. It was the first time I have ever Ski-ed in my life and it was simply awesome. What a place!!! I was spell-bound. I learned my baby steps of Ski-ing here. Very nice people, very helpful and supportive. When I was there, I also participated in their Open Barbecue party, met some... More

We learned on a prior trip to Idaho that ski resorts can make great places to hike in the summer, and we weren't disappointed. We drove to the Pioneer Lodge, then hiked the service road to Shafer Butte. There were other trails available as well. Some people were taking mountain bikes to ride the trails. My wife is a Crossfitter... More

As a teenager, I lived in Boise and took every opportunity to go skiing at Bogus Basin. I don't know that you would call it a resort. It does have some great skiing and it is lots of fun. Since it was only 17 miles up the mountian, we could go skiing anytime we felt like going like Saturday morning... More

This is a great little ski resort very close to downtown Boise. The problem is getting there! The road in and out is very dangerous and people drive like maniacs on it. Many seem to have road rage as they go to their day of pleasure or return from it. If the transportation issue were resolved this could be top... More

We thought we might fit an impromptu ski afternoon on a trip the end of April- beginning of May trip to Boise. Took the less than 20 mile ride up the winding road to get there, ( and enjoyed the scenic views very much), to find snow on the ground at the top, but the resort had closed. Nothing fancy... More

My son and his wife came for Valentine's day and went to Bogus because she is a great skier. They weren't too impressed and said it was really "Bogus".

Went skiing with colleage from 10am-1pm then drove back to airport to catch the 3 pm flight out of Boise. $49 day ticket, but for as low as $225 the local can get the whole next year season pass + the rest of the year. Small mountain but got high speed quad so just pray for the snow! What can... More
