It's a really great place to visit. It looks beautiful from the outside en in. They have no admission fee and you can walk around at your own pace. "If the door is not locked it's open" was the phrase we heard

Tripadvisor--update your listing, the renovation and expansion are done! This is a capitol that is compact, yet with a lot of interesting things to see. You can see a video that tells you about the recently completed restoration and expansion, or walk the building yourself. I would recommend that you go to the Gift Shop first and request an information... More

While my top state Capitol is Iowa- this was not only a lovely building it had a wonderful historic timeline in the lower level. Very informative trip. I think it is worth a visit if you are in town.

A beautiful building which is clearly the centerpiece of downtown Boise. The inside is decorated in gorgeous marble. The dome is reminiscent of a European dome. Truly an awe-inspiring building symbolizing American ingenuity.

easy access and good displays made this an interesting visit. You can walk through the house and senate chambers, and use the stairs or elevator if needed.

I took some out of town guest to see downtown Boise. One stop they insisted on making was to the Capital Building. I had never actually visited before, though I have driven by it many times. Everyone left impressed.

We walked around and went inside -- what a lovely rotunda! Definitely worth a look. Beautiful grounds. We walked there and picnicked in the park right next to it.

After dinner one night a group of us went for a walk and ended up in front of the Capital Building. We were very surprised to find that it was open so we entered and visited both the senate and house chambers. The inside is absolutely beautiful. This is only the second state capital that I have visited. Our Alaska... More

If you are in Boise, and you have some spare time- you must definitely tour the Idaho State Capitol Building. It is truly one of the most gorgeous places I've ever been. I could stand for hours in awe of the beautiful interior and detail. Downstairs in the basement (I think) is a wonderful museum about the Capitol building. It... More
