State Capitol Building

We visited on a holiday weekend on Sunday. The Capitol was open to the people. We live in Idaho & love our state & our governor, Butch Otter.

My brother and I went to just see. The government was shut down that day and it was great!! We peaked in every room. I absolutely loved seeing everything and learning about the history of Idaho!! Super super fun!

We really enjoyed our self guided tour and the things that we printed off from the internet. There is a lot too see. We even got to go into the Governors office and walk around.

The Capitol is really beautiful and there is a huge amount of marble. It is very interesting, and the employees are very knowledgable and helpful.

Yes, the Capitol here was very 'white'...it was very chilling to be in it, especially if you follow the happenings of the legislators... Hatred of women, creatures...seemingly anyone not just like them.

This building is a show case for what gold money can buy. It is amazing display of the marble coming from Italy and Russia. It is possible to see both State chambers as well as walked into the governor's office and sit in his chair.

When you grow up in a small city you travel through others or television. Nothing wrong with that but when you arrive in the heart of old town Boise you must stop and admire the capitol building. It is worth a photo moment.

If you are visiting the Boise area I highly recommend you stop by the State Capitol Building and grounds. If you have young children with you (or young adults) this is a great place to learn about Idaho's rich history. This is one of the most beautiful State Capitols in America! I have visited and explored many of our country's... More

It's free, so it's for me! The beautiful stonework make this a must-see if in town! My family and I enjoyed walking around the grounds and inside the Capitol itself. There is even a large replica of the Liberty Bell outside the front steps, which my kids managed to ring.

It was closed for remodeling for over 2 years. Now re-opened, it is a beautiful building. Genuine marble from Vermont, Italy, Alaska, and Georgia. They have expanded the underground area. The man at the info place told us, "Anything that is not locked, you are welcome to explore." So we did! Congressional staff were not very friendly or helpful. But... More
